28 June 2009 Sunday Although I once again planned to get up and get home early, it did not work out that way. I was tired in the morning and moved the alarm back an hour from my original plan. Then there was this movie on TV I didn’t wait for the end of it, but I watched way too much of it as I fixed the route to home. Carol told me to eat at the Bohemian Café on the way home so I needed to find it and plot a point to add it to my route. Carol had promised a great German meal if I should stop there for lunch. She said it would one that you would remember, in a good way, for a long time after that. I had around 300 ... read more

Sound check was early today. But everything went well, and the school show went smoothly. Kyle let me borrow his nice camera and lens to take some production shots of the lighting, which I appreciated. I got quite trigger-happy and took 526 photos in an hour. It was one of those days where I wished I was a better photographer and took better pictures, but I’m not so sure I want to spend the money to buy a nice camera and lens. But I really like to HAVE good photos. Alas, this is why I have friends. Some of them are pretty cool, but I’m not sure if I’ll get any up tonight. There’s a lot to wade through. We had the afternoon off, so after lunch, Sarah and I ran a few errands and then ... read more

I hope that song is now stuck in your head. It’s been in mine all day. Yesterday was a 10-hour drive, taking us from Michigan through Wisconsin, into Minnesota and down to Iowa. There might have been 9 buildings in this town. Oh well, it was a bed. We got up this morning and hit the road again- all I did was sleep and read, as usual. But I was wide-awake for entering Nebraska, my 48th state! It was a beautiful day. Once we got to the venue, we walked to Jimmy John’s and enjoyed lunch in the wonderful sun. As I was doing my advances, I talked to the ME here. Her name is Collie, “Collie like the dog.” I thought it was interesting for two reasons. One, I grew up with collies. Two, I ... read more
