I hadn't put hot rollers in my hair in ages. You see, I've got about two feet of red-ish, brown-ish, curly-ish, wild-ish hair. I usually let it fly untamed and tangled like I was tapping my inner Chewbacca. But this night I was going to meet one of my greatest travel heroes; the man who helped me plan numerous trips to Europe, Rick Steves. I slept where he told me to sleep. I ate where he told me to eat. I walked where he told me to walk. I believe his guidebooks are invaluable for planning a trip to Europe. I took out the hot rollers my little brother had gotten me as an eighth grade graduation gift twenty years ago. I plugged them in and was delighted to feel the cold plastic rollers slowly turn ... read more

Muchisimas gracias, Alejandro Maya y Antje Muntendam, para los recomendaciones! Por favor, dame tus numeros de correos porque quiero mandate tarjetas postales. ---- Monterrey, Mexico. That is where I will be living for the semester starting monday. I'm excited that I get to study in Mexico, especially because my family has history there. Hi all. Well Raeann and I arrived safely back home about a week ago. Pretty smooth trip across MT, ND, MN,WI to get to I-39/74 and home. All in all we are very happy with the trip. Raeann got her first whitewater, we saw AHHlaska +. Dodge averaged over 12 MPG, we put in 10,600 miles and saw many parts of this wonderful blue ball we all live on. People all along the way were friendly and interesting. I now have to triage about 1000 pictures and several video segments! As soon as we returned home we had another (now resolved) flair-up with Dad's health and lost my sister in-laws mom to cancer..... makes one very thankful and appreciative of good friends and family. Leaving you here with a few pics from Glacier. Hope you have ... read more

First post to most of you. You can backtrack a couple ofposts if you desire. I am waiting at Strawberry Fields coffee shop to be picked up by Dad and Raeann. Hectic day yesterday, including the loss of some significant cash in a Taco Bell incident, but we are bouyant of spirit and ready to head west. TRuck sems fine and we got it packed with some extra room and without any real conflict. Not bad considering we spent our first 30 minutes together in it just 2 days ago. Scott... read more
