Hello from Georgia. I finally made it out of service and out of Florida. I spent lot of time in Florida since the first of the year, but didn’t get to do any real sightseeing. Except for the bird photography workshop in the Titusville area I didn’t capture many images. Well today I finally got into the sightseeing and photography mode. I made a visit to Plains, GA and visited the Jimmy Carter National Historic Area. Not only did I get to explore “downtown” Plains, the train depot that was his campaign headquarters, the old Plains High School (which former President Carter attended) which is now a museum, but I also visited his boyhood farm home. Just South of Warm Springs is Plains Georgia, the home of our 39th President James Earl Carter. We were coming in from the West so we came to the Jimmy Carter’s Boyhood Home first. It was not only his home but also a farm. I thought it was a great experience visiting his boyhood home. Jimmy Carter said it best: “My life on the farm during the Great Depression more nearly resembled farm life of fully 2000 years ago than farm life today. I have reflected on it often since that time; social eras change at their own curious pace, depending on geography and technology and a host of other factors.
