Just as planned and as written on your dance card, our touring car took us to Webster and their mega flea market yesterday. Most all of you signed up to join us so we had quite a load. You never know what you might see along the drive here. Much of it is just old, barren scrub land. I do like the back road we take where the trees intertwine to make a leafy tunnel with the Spanish moss holding it all together....just like in the Forrest Gump movie....Run, Forrest, Run! But today, it wasn’t Forrest Gump running along the roadway, it was a small cow. This black heifer had found itself outside its fenced-in yard and was dining where the “grass was greener.” I can’t blame it. The lush green pastures from home are not ... read more

Life is good. Finally, at last, it has become that way for Lonely Lulu. Life is again looking up for her. She can hear you sighing with relief and applauding. Her wailing has stopped. Her tears have dried up. Her nose is clear. Her capricious, so-called boyfriend has responded. Obviously, her determined fighting spirit paid off. The breath-taking glamour make over didn't hurt. No question that her stunning beauty woke him out of his clouded, unrealistic fantasy regarding Miss Pigface. A sorrowful, repentant, resourceful letter has been sent to Lulu's advocate (me) to be shared with our pathetic heartbroken starlet. It is from HIM! She has read it and read it and reread it. Finally, her pain, distress & anguish has eased and as the gracious soul she is, she is willing to take this volatile ... read more

Time is quickly running out. Yesterday, we gathered up our remaining family, Lory, Jay & Sara, and made the rounds of a few of our favorite haunts. Our sight-seeing tour is now over. We ended up on Rt. 27 and found Manny's Chophouse. We had taken them here last year and they enjoyed it a lot so there was no discussion when Manny's appeared on the horizon. It was as scrumptious as always. I won't tell you how many fluffy, air filled, melt-in-your mouth rolls we ate but I think they had to call out for more flour! The huge salad prepared at our table is to die for.....two monster size bowls finished us off before the delicious entrees were served. We may have to call this place "Trough #2"! So much but so good. We ... read more

The Knapp family proved their endurance and tourist dedication by attending their 4th park of the vacation. They went to Disney's Hollywood Studios and had a good time. It has been several years since Cory & I have visited a Disney park. We were content to just hear the description of the various rides and sights. Disney always does it right.....definitely insuring to "Make All Your Dreams Come True". Ryan's birthday is approaching....April 22nd. This prompted a visit to Dick's. A successful venture. Now...time to eat. Since we had traveled to Rt. 27, the obvious canteen choice was Manny's Chophouse, located in Haines City. Because it was past the Senior Citizen hour, we had an hour wait but as I said to Jay.....it is worth it! As usual, Manny's held true and did not disappoint. The ... read more

The doors open at 4:00 PM and the crowds rush in. You want to get here early or you will wait ad infinitum to get a seat. The crowds are huge. Where is this Mecca for the hungry, you ask. It is a restaurant called Manny's located in Haines City. It is a busy, busy place....in decor, atmosphere and customers. The decor consists of a multitude of gasoline, street & road signs and related paraphernalia (Cory was drooling over the signs as well as the food). They even offered a Jack Daniel's cake....more drool from Bucky. The atmosphere is festive with laughter and chatter. The customers are a happy bunch....enjoying each mouthful of delicious food served by gregarious waitstaff. It is a place you want to add to your "to do" list. We joined our friends, ... read more
