We met Matthew Woodside and Jeff Rodgers about the overview of the internship today. We got to touch Snooty! I was afraid to touch his skin because it looked like parts were ruffled up like it was coming off. His snout has bristles on them that were a bit scary, but it just felt like rubber bristles. He has a triangle shaped body because his musculature, from pulling himself up on the side of his pools. Turns out he lived in really shallow water for the first part of his life. Fortunately, he was able to get the big deep aquarium on the second floor, but he apparently didn’t like it right away. He needs the shallow ends that surround the feeding area to ease into the pool. The Journey to the Land of the Rising Sun So, I've got everything packed, my husband is asleep on the couch, and the Simpsons Season 6 DVD menu is on repeat. I've decided to start a travel blog to pass the wee hours. I'm completely wired right now from juicing pineapple/carrot/apple/strawberries. Yeah for like nearly five months. CRAZY! All I can say to people ... read more

Unemployed. Winter. Gas money, a car and a collection of friends and family all within a day’s drive of each other. Could it be any more perfect? Feb 3 Pulled out at 9 AM. Noah drove the first leg up I-75 so he could get used to using the GPS, which quite frankly, is a wonderful toy. Navigation units are like e-mail. You could get through your entire life without one and not know the difference until you’ve had a dose after which you’ll never be able to get the monkey off your back. We exited the Interstate at Achula just North of Gainesville and headed West. From there it was secondary roads till we hit the Gulf coast. Mainly an agricultural area specializing in lumber production and pine straw farming with the occasional correctional facility ... read more
