Hello and Welcome to my blog "Our Hometown Girl: Singing from Paonia to Milan"! To all who were in attendance at my recital last night, I wish to express my most sincere thanks. With your kindness and generosity I was able to raise $1, 300 in ticket sales and sponsorship. So please allow me to say again, GRAZIE TUTTI!! Next Sunday I am leaving from DIA and landing in Milan, Italy Monday morning. Over the next three and a half months I will be updating this blog on a weekly basis, often daily. We enjoyed our trip to Nicaragua so much last year that we are preparing to leave Colorado once again for the warmer climate of Nicaragua. Our departure date, January 3rd, won't get here soon enough. We will spend 72 days in Nicaragua touring the country on the public buses, ferries and taxis. Our first two weeks will be at a Spanish school in San Juan del Sur. Hopefully, that will help us learn some of the local dialect to help us on our journey. We have been listening to a CD Spanish course, however, when we speak with Spanish speaking people, we find they use different words than our CD's taught us, go figure.
