Our last couple of days were much more slow heading into the end of the trip. Up and out of the hotel with some breakfast. Drove the last few hours of Wyoming then into Colorado. A stop at the Budweiser Brewery in Fort Collins, CO. http://www.budweiser.com/en/our-brand/brewery-tours.html They have the most beautiful breweries. Fort Collins is more modern but the grounds & stables are gorgeous. We moved on stuck in some horrible Denver traffic finally making if to the stop for the night Cripple Creek, CO https://www.visitcripplecreek.com/ Dave and I made a day trip here on a vacation in Colorado previously and just loved it.. Victor Colorado is 48 miles from Colorado Springs and about a hour's drive. The scenery along the way is outstanding and there are many places to stop for a snack or coffee. Victor is a small basically tourist town now with a population of around 450 according to the census. This used to be the heart of the gold country however the old mines whcih one saw in the movies have long been closed and given way to modern gold mining. One such mine is on the highway in the Cripple Creek area. Many old mine shafts dot the country side in and around Victor and there are some paths where one can walk safely to viewing areas.
