Background: A land of vast distances and rich natural resources, Canada became a self-governing dominion in 1867 while retaining ties to the British crown. Economically and technologically the nation has developed in parallel with the US, its neighbor to the south across an unfortified border. Canada's paramount political problem is meeting public demands for quality improvements in health care and education services after a decade of budget cuts. The issue of reconciling Quebec's francophone heritage with the majority anglophone Canadian population has moved to the back burner in recent years; support for separatism abated after the Quebec government's referendum on independence failed to pass in October of 1995.

After some deliberation, I’ve come to a decision: Thanks for the support. I think I’ll continue writing for now. Most of my stories will now be private. And fuck the haters. This story if a continuation of three entries ago (this one). After a barrage of singles and doubles in the club, me and Christal Champagne were ready to start the longer hits, but we ran into a recurring problem with Asians after clubs: the JFK rule (explained at the beginning of [url=http://www.trave [View Full Entry]

On Thursday we had an Australian couple from Melbourne come and stay with us because the Dion’s are part of this world wide group called couch surfing. It was good being able to speak Australian English and speak fast. Then on Saturday after lunch we went into Montreal. In Montreal we went shopping for a couple of hours in the masses of people. Then for dinner we went to this famous Montreal restaurant called Charcuterie Hebraique. It is 80 years old and they have kept everything inside and outside the same as it was 80 years ago and also all the [View Full Entry]

Thursday, May 7, 2009, 5:48 p.m. Montréal, QC. Music of the Moment: My What a Strange Day by Of Montreal I am so tired. I made it to Montreal. I sat next to a lovely young lady on the train, whose name I completely and unfortunately forget, who lives in Montreal. She was incredibly helpful, showing me the Metro map and giving me detailed directions on how to get where I’m going. She helped me out a ton, yet when I got to Montreal, I still got totally utterly lost in the train station. I first picked up all my Amtrak [View Full Entry]

So after having been here for 4 days I have realised a few things. Most importantly: When you're pretending to be a giant moth by wrapping your sleeping bag around you and using it as wings and the other people in the room are not terribly disturbed by it, chances are they'll be nice. No really though. Once again I realised that true friends don't need to be around each other in order to maintain their friendship. Although I've been away from all the people here for almost 2 years, nothing has really changed regarding our friendship. Of course everyone lives [View Full Entry]

So here I am with my first proper Blog entry. The flight to Montreal was pretty good, having a 3 hour Stopover in Heathrow and lounging in the new Terminal 5, eating a nice Sunday roast and washing it down with a pint. Nothing super interesting happened on the flight other than the fact that a 5 year old assaulted me with his plastic spoon. Got picked up from the airport by Hongman, took a cab back to his place and settled into his new apartment. When I arrived I had to fairly fight my way through all the pieces of [View Full Entry]

A Message North America » Canada » Quebec » Montréal
I started this blog close to 2 years ago to keep a few of my close friends connected with my shenanigans as I tore through Canada and Japan. My first few entries were short, bullet point highlights of my week. There was no story…no development of characters…no embedded metaphors…just a list of the bare facts so I could remember them for later. I had 3 readers: my friends Teddy and C-Benz and Todd from Atlanta, a reader of Teddy’s who found his way to my site. Sometime after I stopped being retarded—after I stopped GTAing police cars, after I stopped str [View Full Entry]

We had Friday off school so we went to watch Martin play ice hockey. It was really good to watch but it was also very rough. They played against the girls and they won. It was his last game for the season. We then went home and packed to go to Quebec city. We left home around 630-7pm Friday night and arrived in Quebec around 845pm. We stayed at some friends place. They have two girls that are a lot younger than me. In the morning we headed into town to the old part of Quebec. We arrived down near the [View Full Entry]

Toughing The Weather After the California thing didn't work out, I ended up back home to figure things out. Since I have been back, I have organized a job, and am currently working on getting a second one, and I bought a car from my friend Jake. I am planning on starting school in the fall, but I am making sure that I can do some of it online. Sandra had come to the US for two weeks to visit.
