May 2ndat 11:00 has slowly come to an end. After a second furtive search for my mobile I took the bus north to the library at Scraborough Town Centre. Looking for the location I spoke with a nice man at the security desk of the Scarborough City Hall. The library was inside the STC. Asking at at the Customer Service desk the lady said no library was in the Mall. But there it was on the list albeit without a phone number. The Lady was too good. The listing was actually a book mobile which only arrived every second Thursday. She suggested the next best idea … Starbucks or Davids Tea for WiFi access … or the Youth Drop-in Centre. I tried the drop in centre but could not connect. By now I was in need of ... read more
Had planned to do the optional extra tour of the CN tower in the city of Toronto this morning however weather was against us. As it was overcast we wouldn't have seen anything other than clouds so tour director suggested we wait and see if it is clearer after lunch (suited me as was nervous about doing the tower as I remember being uncomfortable in the Sydney Tower and this is much taller apparently). Anyway, did a morning bus tour around Toronto. My impression? Glass and cement city. Not a lot of old, creative or character buildings...just lots of very similar glass and cement high rise. Don't get me wrong, it's okay just ...I don't know...repetitive. We did stop off at a market and I bought some soft cheese and raspberries for a treat in the ... read more

Published: April 20th 2012North America » Canada » Ontario » TorontoHello cyber stalkers! So I´ve never done this whole blogging thing before.. but I figured so many of you have asked for tales of my adventures, that I better put it all in one place for you lovely folk. And, let´s be honest, my memory leaves something to be desired. This will be handy. So tonight I finally arrived in Bogota. It was late by the time I got in, and truth be told I´m so gross from the journey I wouldn´t really want to go out! I´m staying with my friend Ivette here, a Peruvian girl I met two and a half years ago when I was in Peru. So tonight we just chilled and chatted for a few hours, and now that she´s gone to bed here I am sitting at the desk in ... read more

Antique Pickers Game in Toronto Second Hand Stores
Published: April 9th 2012North America » Canada » Ontario » TorontoSometimes myself and my friends (who do NOT wish to be included in my travel journalism) will take shopping trips around the city and have fun buying things that we think can sell for more money on eBay. Its a game. The rules are simple. We each have $50 maximum budget and one month to turn a profit. In this time we are expressly forbidden to promote our sales on our own social networks, like for example my travel blog, as the game is not about how many friends you have, but whether or not you can use your knowledge of antiques to pick the best items and turn a profit on your purchases in an online auction websites. Hence you will se no links to my eBay store or any sales here. The key to success ... read more

Travelling from Niagara Falls to Toronto is an easy 1.5 hours along the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) and Gardiner Expressway. Add 15 minutes if crossing from the Peace Bridge in Buffalo. Princess of Wales Theatre plays host to the National Theatre of Great Britain production of "War Horse". At a capacity of 2000 the sight-lines are excellent from every seat in the theatre. David and Ed Mirvish built the theatre in 1993 and showcased Miss Saigon as the first production. This theatre and the other 3 Mirvish owned theatres, along with Winter Garden, Elgin, Toronto Centre for The Arts, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and Four Seasons Centre built in 2006 help make Toronto the largest live theatre centre in North America after New York. If I lived in Toronto I would never want for ... read more
