We are on VA CA TION - Gonna have a ball! Adventure Bear or "AB" is coming along to make sure that we have a great adventure and keep safe. We left home on the 23 and have stopped briefly in Langley to say "see ya" to a few friends before joining the Canadian Coasters in Saanich on Monday. We parked the trailer at our friends sons property and are staying with Candy and Rick. Yesterday, I met up with Karen from Maine Island and we went to the Fraser Valley Quilters's Guild fabulous quilt show in Langley. Earl and her husband Gary went off to visit. Later we had dinner with Bev and Ralph and tonight we are having dinner with Darlene and Dave. Tomorrow we start to meet up with the Coasters that have ... read more

Peu ... read more

October 2013 So after shaking off the sad feeling from the hard goodbyes and getting all my own stuff packed up, it was time to get excited and set off for my next adventure. Through the organisation Wwoof (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) I secured a placement for 4 weeks at a farm just south of Vancouver in Langley. The farm was Dragonfly Acres, owned and operated by Lisa and her husband Doug and their main business is the breeding/training/showing of horses. The way Wwoof works is that you set up a placement at a farm and the owners provide you with food and accomodation and in return, you work for them. I'd said all along that while in Canada I wanted to try something new and different and this would certainly qualify as that!! ... read more

Christmas in BC is very green and grey with accents of coloured lights. The holidays were filled with food and friends and family. My nephews are beautiful boys with warm characters, and good temper. Peter entertained us with his ukulele, his skills are much stronger then I would have believed possible. Jack is an artist with all of that art's passion, and his ability is immense. We shared lovely suppers and conversations and all the traditions of our family. We visited Butch's family as well and I was welcomed so warmly into every home, that I felt that I had always belonged there. We walked in the Langley parks and were refreshed by the soft mist rains of winter in BC. Then we watched the forecast and knew that we had to leave before the next ... read more

August 30, 2013 We’re coming to the end of a rather damp but lovely relaxing week in North Vancouver. Unfortunately, thanks to the rain we’ve not really achieved the hikes we were hoping to do. We hiked Lynn Peak last Sunday when the weather was beautiful but since then, in true Vancouver tradition, we’ve had a bit of rain each day culminating in an almighty thunder and lightening storm last night! Quite the display when it eerily lit up the mountains to the side and behind us! Yesterday there was nothing for it but to go to the cinema. We saw Despicable Me 2 and all thoroughly enjoyed it. A couple of laugh out louds bits that even had Steve and I giggling – always good when you find a family film that truly appeals to ... read more

We are going to the airport about 4 hours early in the event the the whole Olympic thing has turned the airport into nightmare. I left Campbell River airport today. My mom, Lisa, Evan and Chris all watching me go through security. I was doing ok until i saw tears from Evan...then I had to really try not to start bawling. My little guys. I ran into a friend before we left, so that was nice. We sat together and chatted. For those of you who don't know...I HATE to fly. As soon as the plane starts moving...all i envision is crashes and explosions. I was gripping the seat so tight as we took off. There was a slight breeze..which freaked me out of course. I was SO happy to land. Keep in mind..this is only the start of my flying adventure. Just wait until tomorrow. Keri picked me up from the airport. We just got back from a delicious ... read more

Hello Everyone! As you may have noticed, our blog has had some major problems as of late. It was a problem with the entire site, not just our entries, and for a while we had lost all our blogs we had written so far! We got all our blogs back, however, and are now able to add our last few entries to complete the ensemble! So we are sorry about the delay, but things could have been a lot worse!!! So we are home now!! We got home on August 5th (we began our journey on May 6 so it took 3 months exactly!) and we were greeted at the Albion ferry by some friends and family. We had some visitors ride with us from the ferry to Brad's house where we were greeted by more ... read more
