Suzy has moved. Not far it has to be said. But moved she has. From her normal resting place she now sits on the driveway. The conifers were lopped and she sits there waiting. Waiting to go on a journey. The days are being counted down and I only have another 23 days to go before she will be washed, cleaned and tidied up, filled with clothes and all the cares of the world will be far behind me as I hit the road. A passenger on another journey to an unknown different Europe. A Europe that we are trying to escape from. I wonder just how different it will feel or will it be same old same old Europe. The pound has taken a bit of a beating recently and the rate of exchange between ... read more

Hi all, Sorry for having not blogged for a while but our world just went bang, as I type this, it is the 14th January 2014 and I am sitting in the kitchen of our dear friends house Gary and Karen Barber in Tamworth in Staffordshire, whilst Caroline is back home in Perth Australia 10,500 Miles away and I am missing her like crazy, all I can say is thank god for Skype. Gary Barber (Gaz) had been my mate from since we started our electrical apprenticeship together some 32 years ago, back in 1980 and we have been firm friends ever since. The thing about friends like this is, we might not speak for a while but when we do, we just carrying on from where we left off, without evena blink of an eye. It would be rude of me not to mention, his lovely wife Karen, or (Pikey) as she will always be to me, they are wonderful people and it was they who we came to Australia with in 2007 for our very first Australian Adventure, (Thanks Guys) ... read more

What a Supertrouper of an idea it was to have our first Tradeteam "deployment to Project Outback" do at an Abba tribute night! We knew it was going to be a Midnight Special where The Winner Takes it All and plenty of the gang past and present turned up The Way Old Friends Do for a fling before Our Last Summer together for quite a while! With a role call of 30 we headed into Tamworth to face our Waterloo! First up to experience our Abba-ness was Chicago Rock, you would have thought the staff in there have seen it all before but this seemed new to them! Maybe it was because the average year of their birth was about 1985!! Onto the the Assembly Rooms we went. Would it be like the last time we'd ... read more
