Today has been a blast!! Last night I made lots of new friends. More people from the college who are working here over the summer. Funny thing was they knew who I was from my birthday. It was so much fun. Today we went to Bath. It was okay. The Roman Baths were pretty cool, but I would have rather been able to wonder around the city by myself than have a guided tour. Tonight, dinner was a James Bond theme. One of the guys sang a song and the dinner was AMAZING! I bought a black dress with I love. I also bought a orange clutch and a new necklace. Just wanted to write something real quick. I'm out to go have a good time with everyone! Cheers!! :)... read more

Well I made it back. It was an interesting trip back. I threw out my flight information (brilliant, yes) so I couldn't remember what time my flight was. I remembered 7, but I couldn't remember if it was 19:00 (7) or 17:00. So I decided to assume 17:00 to be safe and got to the airport way too early because naturally it wasn't until 19:00. Getting to the airport was a trip because I needed to take a train. Well I really couldn't read anything in the train station and ended up using the wrong machine to try and purchase my ticket. Luckily the guy behind me helped me out and once I was on the right machine I didn't have a problem. Getting into the UK took forever; border control was terribly slow. Then I ... read more

I awoke this morning and found that Elizabeth had gone on a mid-day run... unfortunately for my stomach, I had promised her the night before we would go to breakfast as we did not dine on the usual midnight donor kabob. Belly growling, I desperately waited, and waited, and waited.. the girl obviously has stamina because it was about 1 1/2 hours and 8 dried prunes later that she arrived... now my stomach was growling for other reasons! With the prune bag empty we headed to the streets for a more traditional meal.. however, finding the traditional breakfast that had blossomed from mere desire to an absolute requirement was more difficult at 2 in the afternoon.. thank you Sophia2, a cafe tucked away next to the Oxford castle, and thank you Hormel (your baked beans ... read more

9th July: A swift trip to the airport, with all parties arriving on time! Family and friends (thanks guys) came to farewell, with only a few tears shed. 'Random' spot searches were performed with Fi being cleared of any drug contamination and me getting a good rub down before narrowly missing out on a full cavity search thanks to Macca's inappropriate comments. Singapore allowed time for a quick Tiger or two out in the 'fresh' air of Changi, and a quick Whopper to settle the stomach before the long haul. Some shafty manouvering on my part saw us with 5 seats between us, keeping Fi and Macca well seperated, and beds almost as comfy as those afforded to our fellow travelers up in business class. 10th July: London meant saying goodbye to Fi, with more tears, ... read more

Blenheim Palace & Oxford Europe » United Kingdom » England » Oxfordshire » Oxford By USinUKJuly 11th 2007 Today was a decent weather day - mostly cloudy and cool but no hard rain, just a few sprinkles. We started at Bleheim Palace, a grandiose, over-the-top palace built in the early 1700s by John Vanbrugh (who also did Castle Howard that we visited earlier in our trip). Photos not allowed inside, but it was very opulent - gold everywhere. The buildings and grounds were of enormous scale, hard to capture in pictures. Next it was Oxford - ... read more

So I didn't write yesterday. We got back from London late. Macbeth was amazing Monday night. First, we went to Broughton Castle. It was crazy because someone was still the Lord of the castle and still lived there! It was neat because we had a guide who told us the history behind everything, so it was nice to know what I was looking at. The garden was really pretty and it had a moat. I decided I'm going to build a moat around my house. Better get lots of shovels Mom! Then we drove to Stratford. We went and ate first, and I had the best meal ever! Since the tour of the castle took longer than expected, and we had to worse waitress in the world, we didn't have anymore time than to eat before ... read more
