I am still happily living with my partner Wayne in Nounsley (Essex). We have enjoyed using Wayne’s boat a RIB and have undergone some training in boat handling. We both are instructors and on the committee for our local SCUBA club which takes up a lot of our ‘spare time’. We try to spend time each weekend with our family and debate the world with our parents, Lee (Wayne’s brother) and Mindy, torment Wayne’s nephews Lewis and Adam, and have enjoyed playing with Alicia as she gets bigger (and bolder). We love to see Claire (my sister) and David when we can with their lovely son Joshua who is turning into a fine young boy and clearly not a baby anymore. We started the year in a cultural manner, having great fun putting on our kilts ... read more

For my pre Birthday celebrations I decided to hold a Murder Mystery. Everyone really pulled out the stops with the costumes, and the evening was a great laugh. The food went down well which was a relief, and I think everyone had a fun night. ... read more

After a bit of though I decided to become a biker! First step was to book on my CBT. After a couple of days I was up and riding on the open roads. It was great fun! I found the work in the yard tricky but all the practice paid off and I headed to Silver End and roamed the roads. Brrmmmmmmm With my newly found talent, a wodge of cash and my license Wayne and I visited various dealers looking at bikes. We narrowed the search to a Jinlun 125-11, a brand new chinese import custom cruiser style bike. We finally landed at SJ Bikes in Rochester, who actually had a industrial unit, several bikes to see and a good reputation. We left a deposit and my license. I sent the insurance documents through and ... read more

Wayne and I invited a few friends around for New Years Eve to help us celebrate. We prepared a mountain of food - Suzanne cooked a salmon which was delic. Nisa made her famous Pavlova mmmmmmmm and Jan prepared her Mud Slide (chocolate roll)-. Lots of salad, bread, cheese, veg, cravettes, prawns, beef etc made up a feast of food. Everyone arrived smartly dressed, and the eating began, we gorged and chatted for ages, lots of drink fuelled conversation. We eventually got down to business and played GAMES. Articulate, In the Bag and Pass Word took us up to Midnight. Champagne and a very bad rendition of Auld Lang Syne (no one new all the words) saw in the New Year. We continued to play Pass Word for a bit before people headed off home. We ... read more

The last few weeks work and life generally have gone hectic again! Sat 10th November we went to London for engagement drinks with Hazel and Andy, Wayne’s friends. I wasn’t feeling very well so we didn’t stay to late. Lots of work meetings followed including a session at Stock Primary School. Wed 14th November a group from the dive club went to see The Drifters. They were brilliant. We had a fantastic night out. Fri 16th November went to Escape to celebrate Katherine’s birthday. It was lovely to see Tamsin and Paul again after soooooooo long. Shame I had to work the next morning tho! Work meetings, training course up in London and a Staff Trustee Away Day took over the following week. Fri 23rd November we went to Colchester to see Julius Caesar for Suzanne’s ... read more

So long since the last blog I realised it was time for an update. Wayne came back from his Route 66 trip after my last entry, and has been raving about it ever since! It’s nice to have him back home again. We’ve had a really hectic few weeks. I had lots of evening meetings and also running various training things for work, staff meetings, line management meetings and team meetings have been timed to occur when I needed them least. Wayne has been working such long hours it is really wearing him out. For a brief period he was down to 2 people rather than 5 at work, meaning really long hours. Saturday 29th September was our Dive club Try Dive. I’d like to say it was a success but really it was a farce. ... read more

What a weird week! I had to work Monday, Tuesday AND Wednesday evenings… this was NOT good!! My dad’s best friend from Holland had sailed over with his wife to Heybridge, so on Monday I met with them and my mum for some lunch before rushing into Maldon for a meeting at the Council offices, this was long and tedious and I struggled to stay awake!! Decided to go to the gym for a swim to wake up, had a nap when I got home before eating and leaving for work. Tuesday was dull as dishwater - in the office all day, broke the day with another swim at lunch time to try to revive me. Had cramps and didn’t want to go out in the evening AGAIN! My meeting went on for a while and ... read more

After a rather stressful dive club meeting on Thursday night I really didn't sleep well, so had a well deserved day off on Friday! I decided to join my mum and the dogs for a walk along the Blackwater Navigation Path. We met at my house and drove to Langford near the Museum of Power. We walked all the way to Papermill Lock - it was much further than we expected and poor old Lucy was starting to limp. Mary, dog walking friend had parked at Ulting and walked to meet us and back, she then drove from Ulting to the Lock. After a big sandwich and a cake we felt refreshed and ready to go again. Lucy however was rather stiff so hitched a lift back to Braintree with Mary. Mummy, Sophie (labrador) and I ... read more

Thursday at diving was brilliant, we had the inflatable island out and sponges (grown ups only). I was knackered afterwards. Wayne didn’t get on the island but pelted everyone with sponges - I had no sympathy for his saw arm due to over sponge throwing! Mary (diving) has met a man and was all smitten kitten all evening! Fantastic - looking forward to hearing all about him and maybe even one day meeting the lucky man! Friday I chilled out, we went on a local Nounsley / Hatfield Peverel pub crawl so I got to see around the area which was good. Got in late exhausted I was working on Saturday morning - struggled a lot with waking up, and felt very ill all morning :( Had a long snooze when I got in and ... read more
