Friday 30.4.2010 day 198 Ghost Tours and Devil’s stones Today we went on a ghost tour with our resort to Shebbear there is a devil stone there that was ether dropped out of the devils pocked when he came to earth or he though the stone at the nearby church and missed. The stone appeared on the 10th of November 1616 and each year on this date 6 church bell ringers turn the stone over with the whole village looking on. The stone is turned to keep the devil away. After looking at the stone we went into the nearby church. Thursday 29.4.2010 day 197 History Talk about Woodford Bridge’s Today we went to a talk and cream tea about the hotel we are staying in. The hotel was original a house for the bridge keeper to live in. It was built in the 12th century as more people stared to use the road it became a inn in the 15th century and has remained a inn ever sense. There is supposed to be a number of ghosts in the place including a man his wife and daughter who were killed at the inn. The staff says that there is a ghost in the staffs quartes as well. Wednesday 28.4.2010 day 196 Holsworthy Markets My friend got his hair cut and then we went to the Holsworthy farmers Markets today and got a lot of locally grown produce for meals for the rest of the week. Then we went to the live animal markets and saw the calves and sheep’s being auctions there was also cow and lambs. There was so many farmers there it was lots of fun. ... read more

Tuesday 27.4.2010 day 195 Lizzy’s Larder Today the resort had a trip to Lizzy’s Larder and a walk around Milton Damerel our local village. It was very interesting and our tour guide had a lot of information about the local history. We went to a farm where I got to feed two orphan lambs then we had lunch on the farm before going home. Monday 26.4.2010 day 194 Getting to know our resort Today we went to the resort welcome meeting and met some of the other guest and found out all about the local area. We talked to one of the club people about losing our points in Canada and he said he would look into it and get back to us. We then drove to the honey farm on the way we saw a fox hunt. I was so shocked to see it. It was much worse to see then I had imagined there were close to 100 dogs and about 20 people on horseback that I saw there was all so about 50 people in cars with binoculars keeping an eye out they were all over the roads and the poor horses and dogs were being run ... read more

Sunday 25.4.2010 day 193 Our Devon resort After another fantastic English bfast of local produce we book out of the White Hart and drove to our new resort. We arrive a bit early so we did some shopping at the local shopping centre and then had a bit of a drive around the area. We saw a gnome reserve close to where we are staying but did not go in and we drove past the largest honey farm in Britain and I think we will go back as it looks good.
