So it's been a pretty uneventful weekend this weekend. We didn't go anywhere or do anything super exciting, but we did go out to Parte Vieja and hang out at night and of course we also did group breakfast at Kayla and Danielles on Saturday morning. Last night was a really fun night though. We went out to the Parte Vieja and we went to this bar called Tas Tas which we normally avoid like the plague since its like a "travelers bar" and the only people there really are english speaking people and we like to go to real basque bars. Well i dont have too much time because i leave soon to catch a bus to Barcelona for the weekend but i just wanted to update you all on the rest of my week. I had another exam on wednesday and it went ok i think. It was hard but i know that i did well enough. Yesterday I had my first presentation for my conversation class. It was sooo nerve racking. I HATE HATE HATE giving speeches in english and this one had to be in spanish so it was even worse. You will not believe my crazy luck yesterday!!!! So the San Sebastian Film Festival has been going on for the past week and there were two main big movies that were being shown during it along with a bunch of other smaller less well-known films. There was the Brad Pitt movie Inglourious Bastards and of course you already know that Brad Pitt actually came to San Sebastian to promote the movie and actually watch the first showing. And that was exciting although i didnt get to see him. But the second big movie was The Imaginarium of Dr. Pernassus which is the movie that Heath Ledger died halfway through filming. What a rough but amazing couple of weeks so far! I'm finally starting to really enjoy my classes besides the hours of homework and work i have to put in to them. But it all really seems to be worth it. I am really learning a lot! It's crazy how much spanish i have already picked up from just being in Spain for 3 weeks. Plus my teacher is absolutely the sweetest and nicest lady ever. She tells us all of this interesting information about spanish and basque culture and she really wants for us to learn and get the most of our experience. Wherein I leave the rain for the sun I awoke Friday morning to find it was *pouring* rain in Donostia. Thunder, lightening, the whole works; it was beautiful! Think Seattle rain mid-winter: it was coming down sideways, in buckets. I had planned to walk to the local bakery to grab some breakfast to eat on the train (they had some lovely whole wheat rolls Thursday). The bakery was still closed when I walked by, so I kept walking. Made it to the station with time to spare. The station store was open, but all they had were Panier and doughnuts - I grabbed a Panier.
