After breakfast, a quick walk in the crisp fresh air through the village down the road into the farm land was my only opportunity to check if my hiking pole was in one of the buses or had unfortunately fallen on the ground. Lelia came with me for pure pleasure, and our walk was pleasant indeed. The newly green grass beyond the little church gave us a vista all the way to the forest near the farm. Before we had walked half-way, the bus driven by Paul (transporting the luggage) and Manka came by. I looked under the seat from last night without finding the pole. We drove from the caves to our hostel and we saw this beautiful lake. The hostel was nice because the people were nice. It had a tight room but it was good for the 3 of us and also I had the whole bathroom for myself because no other people on our floor. We were supposed to go to dinner we got super duper lost. It was scary because it was dark and tiny roads. Finally we got to our restaurant. We wanted to get Slovenian food since we were in Slovenia so we ordered a fish called trout that lived in Lake Bled. Then we go this hamburger type thing that was super good and this amazing sausage. There was this sauerkraut from Slovenia but Vitor and I did not like it. For dessert we ... read more

Wednesday July 24 – We had plans to go to a nearby gorge today, but we woke up at 7am for the 9am bus to get there (there was one at 9am and one at 10am), and it looked like rain. We didn’t know what it was like exactly, but thought it would be a better experience with better weather, and since tomorrow looked better, we decided to hold off on the gorge for the next day. Instead we took tomorrow’s plan today and went to Bohinj lake instead. It’s about an hour away, and much bigger and not as touristy.
