Heading to Slovenia for 10 days

Hi,
I'm going to Slovenia in 10 days for a 10 day holiday, and was wondering if anyone has tips or suggestions who has been there.

Basically we're flying into Klagenfurt in Austria and taking a train to Bled. Hoping to spend a couple of days hiking and biking in Triglav National Park before travelling down the Soca valley towards the coast, maybe visiting Ljubljana for a couple of days too. We haven't booked anywhere specific yet though, and I was wondering if anyone knows of good places to go/stay/eat etc.

Thanks! Reply to this

hi!
i've just spend a few days in ljubljana. it's very nice little town. a took a few day trips. one to bled where i went rafting and it was great. really nice way to spend a nice sunny day. and bled is beautiful. the other one i went kayaking on krka river. it's about 45min drive away from ljubljana, beautiful nature and the guides were great. i took those trips with a local agency called label. check em out at www.label.si they do other trips too. i don't know about the others but i defenitely recommend those two trips i took. averall a really like slovenia. very nice and green!

Hello Luke 😊

The main good thing to do in Ljubljana is to take part in the night life. The bars and clubs can be hard to find, so get recommendations from the locals that you see sitting around in cafes.

I have been in slovenia in winter and it was lovely! I stayed for 3 days and i still managed to do so many things!

I reccomend you do the following
- Stay in an hostel in the city centre
- Do a city tour (they have one every day at 10 am departing from the city hall i think)
- Visit the city castle - you can walk there yourself and take many lovely photos
- Do a day excursion to Bled
- Have a delicious pleskavica from one of the many street vendors
- Have a delicious cheese burek freshly made in one of the many 24 hour pastry take away shops Reply to this

If you have ten days, I would strongly suggest a bike trip. It seems like you have some plans already, but if you are willing to drop some of those ideas, then sign up for a bike trip. they take care of everything, and they make sure that you see what is worth seeing. They give you time in Ljubljana, and you end in Venice.
although it may look expensive, it includes airfare, all hotels, local guides, and some amazing meals.
VBT is certainly the best bike company. they have the best value, by far.
