Bilbao turned out fine, no hassles at all, in fact it was a really pleasant place to while away some hours and plan a few next steps. Stomach cramps took a bit of hold which slowed me down alot, meaning lots of rest and a day by the water in a nice little town just north called Plentzia. It was here I realised how much I adore Spain, and Tim Cahill. Granted I'd only seen a bit of the north over two weeks, however the people, atmosphere, warmth and spirit of the country gets inside you and makes it hard to leave. But leave I did, the urge to take in some more sausage and bad moustaches proving too great, and I took another turn towards Deutschland on Ryanair. Hahn was the ex-military airport and destination, ... read more

We know that we have been slackers with updating the blog, but we thought it was about time that we sat down and actually shared what we have been doing for nearly the last 2 months!!! What a great experience we have had, so many places and experiences. After we left Phnom Phen we travelled to Sinoukville which is a quiet beach town in Cambodia. There is literally nothing to do there and we ended up staying for nearly 2 weeks in a great guest house called Cloud 9 run by an english couple who knew how to cook!! It was the first blue cheese we ate during our entire journey and one of the reasons for staying so long at that place. The best thing that happened there was that we got engaged - and ... read more

so i think that everything has to clear with this site and messages and all of that will be better in a few days. but amsterdam is interesting. there is so much world cup buzz all over. the red light district is way too intense. i found myself looking down at the ground marching as fast as i could until we got to the next bar. the flights were long and we have all been tired all day. we got to watch some games and eat some crazy street food. but yea the beer is flowing like wine. we are going to do heineken brewery tomorrow, and go to some museums, also anne frank house. there are lots of cool pictures i will try to upload as soon as i get to a computer that these ... read more

Since Milan, there have been quite a few developments on the trip. Aside from the fact that we've got down to Rome, and are now in Amsterdam, we've had an interesting time packed with excitement. After Milan, we procedeed to drive to Rome. Having visited Pisa (they've got this really dodgy tower thats on a bit of a lean, poor workmanship if you ask me) we headed onwards to Rome. Sleeping in a truckstop about 100km from Rome, we were woken at 2.30 am by the alarm going off. So someone tried to break into the car. The lock was busted, and really, who would have guessed, given the graffiti on the half demolished service station we were at. Ok, we'll notch that one up to carelessness on our part, but at least the alarm worked. ... read more

By far my favorite city in Western Europe. What a town! After traveling all night on the train from Germany, we arrive in Amsterdam just plain tuckered out. But the city awaits, so after a short nap we were on our way. The first night was great. Cheap Heinekens and good food. Not too eventful as we were so tired. The next day we took a canal tour and went to take the tour of the Heineken Brewery. The brewery was closed - BUMMER! Closed on Mondays. Canal tour was cool - a fact I didnt know - when they were buidling the city, the owners paid tax based on the width of the buildings, so everyone built tall, narrow homes along the canals. The houses are so narrow and the stairs so steep, that every ... read more
