Yes...I seem to be behind again. I will attempt to be prompt as it's midnight in Naxos right now, and I have the rather unglamorous task of registering for my classes in an hour. Oh happy day. So when I last left off we were going a little nuts in the shopping department in Florence. One most notable thing about our time in Florence I must mention, was the fact that I had the best meal of my life. Il Trattoria Casalinga...omg. It all began with the local specialty, Rabollita soup, followed by some roasted potatoes swimming in olive oil and garlic, and topped up of course with Tiramisu. Definite trip highlight oh my. Italy was not kind to our waste-lines or wallets, but it still definitely ranks very close to #1 among all the countries ... read more

At breakfast we grabbed Mark's details, as we are heading for Naxos today. In Mykonos we love all the little alley ways with the trendy shops, not that we can afford any of the stuff we like. There are so many gold and jewellery shops, but to us it doesn't seem like the locals wear much jewellery. The locals always seem to be painting everything white, and the buildings are so bright in the sunshine. We are glad we came to Mykonos at this time of year, as in summer it would be crazy. Hotel Marios gave us a lift to our port, which was different to the one we landed at because we are catching a fast ferry. The fast ferry was very luxurious, and there was hardly anyone on board so we could sit ... read more

Hello everyone, apologies for not writing more but I really haven't had the time, which, when traveling, can be used as a valid excuse (read, I'm having a good time). So, a lot has happened since I last wrote, and I don't know how much time I'm going to have, so bear with me and my terrible typing. Budapest was fantastic. I went to gorgeous baths with wrinkly (but supple) skinned old men. At the bath, if you don't wear a bathing suit, they provide you with a...handkerchief, its basically a small hand towel with a string that goes around your back, which means your tooshie is exposed to all and your front...well, lets just say I had a good time examining the ceiling. But the baths, oh the baths, they were sooo relaxing, beatifully ornate, ... read more

Yasas all, ended up in Naxos instead of Serifos as it is easier to get to Paros from here (only 45 minutes away). The ferry took us 5 hours from Athens and it was huge, we sat outside and I burnt my nose, I enjoyed it (not burning my nose; the ferry ride). When we arrived we were approached by a lady on a moped who asked us if we were looking for somewhere to stay she took us to look at a couple of apartments and we decided on the one without a shared toilet which was a bit more expensive but worth it as we have a huge terrace all to ourselves. Spent today at the beach getting nice and red and plan to do the same tomorrow except we are going to visit ... read more

We are just winding down our time in Europe, on Monday, Sept. 5 we will leave for South Africa. If when you read our upcoming blogs and think we've had a change in personality or mood swings, don't worry, we are not on drugs, we've just started our Malaria medication (the side effects include mood swings, crazy dreams and personality changes to name a few - but they are very unlikely). Our time on the Greek Island Naxos has been nothing short of relaxing. Our daily schedule is wake up around 10:30, cook breakfast, go to the beach until late afternoon, shower, go walk around town and watch the picture perfect sunsets everyday, go back to our studio and cook dinner. We've got it made! I don't think there has been a cloud in the sky ... read more

We have finally arrived at the ocean, actually about a week ago. Today we arrived in Naxos, Greece, one of the Greek Islands in the Cyclade Island Group. Even though it is our first night here, we think this destination has topped the charts so far. The greek food is great, so of course we have been eating authentic Greek Gyros, and now because they are truely authentic since we are in Greece, Justin pretty much refuses to eat anything but the Gyros...they are tasty! We have found a studio apartment on the beach, which is very spacious and cheaply priced because i think we are finally out of the tourist season in Europe, which drops the prices down significantly. To get to Naxos was quite a journey, but a very nice one. We had to ... read more

We arrived on the pretty island of Naxos. It had been a pleasant trip on the yacht. We decided to go for a bit of an explore. Some of the girls went for a look at the shops, while Matt, Mark, Dave, Jamie, Luke and I took a ten minute walk to a local beach. We went for a swim and then went for a stroll. On the way back we just had to buy an ice-cream. In the evening we had a communal meal on the yacht and then headed out to a cocktail bar where we enjoyed strawberry daiquiris, blue velvets and Matt had a Forest Gump. A great night was had by all! Before we went to bed, Matt and I took a stroll to see Naxos by night.... read more
