The first half of Spring Break was spent in Paris. I was there for five days. It was alright for the city, but I don't think I would go back. I think I was there a couple days too long. I was there with Katy, Kelly, and Phill. We saw all the sights and everything. It was very tiring walking all over the city and such, but nice to get there once. Our last night in Paris we went to a fancy three course meal dinner. There were no veggie options for me, so I got the veggie plate and creme brulee. The other three got there plate, entree, and dessert. It was pretty good there too. It was €23 for dinner. Pretty good stuff I say. We also stayed in a scary hotel and then ... read more

Paris, la Belle Paris!!! The most romantic city in the world....etc,etc,etc. Anyway, we hopped on the bus ready to endur 9hrs on the road just to see the beautiful Paris and Axe's lovely family!!! It was a very interesting road trip, starting by our very friendly bus driver - a grumpy French man who didn't allow passengers to eat on his bus "you are not the one who is going to clean!!!" he would say, so imagine if he would let us use the toilets???? They were locked the whole 9 hours!!! We arrived in Paris at 8AM and went strait to Axe's sisters place, although she wasn't there she left the keys - very generous of her!! We dumped our stuff and went strait out to explore the most visited city in the world. We ... read more

Hi...this is quick because I'm writing from my phone...but we arrived this morning early into Paris...spent the day wandering around the city. We were stopping to eat at a cafe every 2 hours (carbo loading is fantastic) . We also found an amazing running shop where we managed to pick up lots of last minute 'panic items'..such as more energy bars, poles, thermal tops, etc. Also spent lost of the day talking about the race...our goals, our fears...the terrain, the heat, our feet, our food. Dinner tonight was strange..wanting to celebrate getting to this point with some beers or wine...but a bit too nervous to jinx ourselves so we stuck to water and an early night. Tomorrow at 6am we head to Morocco...guess thats when things get...interesting. Xxchloe ... read more

So with the season over I have about a three week stop in England while the shapers get my new board ready and without wishing to waste any precious time Anna and I headed off to Paris for the weekend, a city I’d never been to before. We had a wonderful weekend, living like tourists in a beautiful hotel right in the middle of Paris, walking the banks of the Seine, Notre Dame, Sacre Ceur, the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. The high light for me being the big stained glass Rose windows at Notre Dame, just stunning. A wonderful city, with some of the rudest people I’ve ever met, 3 waiters in different restaurants ‘tuted’ at us for ordering more food, one brushed bread crumbs in my lap and another took the piss out of ... read more

I hope this blog finds you all well!! I have, as usual, had another wonderful few weeks in Paris, and of course my experiences are rather varied and abundant. My Art History course this semester went to the Centre Pompidou (the modern art museum), which has been really helpful to me in that it gave me a much greater understanding of what Surrealism and the movements that followed were trying to get across with their 'radical' art. My dear friend Dustin came to visit! He flew all the way from Colorado to spend his spring break walking the streets of Paris with me. Since it was his second time here, we skipped the big monuments and just enjoyed the dawning of spring in Paris. We mainly spent the five or so days he was here walking ... read more

We landed at CDG airport in Paris France at @ 12:30 PM. Our flight included a plane transfer in Newark, which we made with time to spare. This was a bit difficult, considering we had to travel from Terminal B to Terminal C on a tram, in and out of security, without the stroller (which we had checked through to Paris) all in under 55 minutes. Our overseas flight was without complications; however, we flew on a 757, which has no overhead storage and little leg room. We all managed to sleep, especially the girls. Once in Paris, we set about making our way through Passport control, baggage claim and finally customs. Believe it or not, our luggage was like the 3rd pieces of the belt. No only this, but it came out just like it ... read more

bonjour from paris. our days have been once again extremely fast paced with so many places to see. we have seen the palace of versailles (impressive but very gaudy with gold and murals everywhere), gone to the top of the eiffel tower (extremely, extremely, extremely high but well worth the night view with paris all a-glow), and my personal favorite, the oprah house where the legend of the phantom of the opera (later derived into a play) originated; the opera house was absolutely gorgeous with marble from ceiling to floor, glass elevators, ornate iron railings, and the main auditorium red as red can be as if someone just splashed red paint all over. we of course contemplated in the presence of rodin's "thinker" and today will be inspired by the louvre. we're very excited to be ... read more
