And once again, there is an delay to the start of my journey ... this is due to the following reasons: * summer is great this year in Austria - so why not enjoy it, instead of flying directly into the winter? * one of my cousins is getting married mid of september and I want to attend his marriage * Austria is playing some qualifying-matches for the World Football Championship in september (I hope they continue their good achievement) * flight-prices are significantly lower at end of summer * I'm just feeling great here in Austria at the moment and [View Full Entry]

There are news once again: I'm planning to make a "small" adoption to my route. Reason for this are two invitations of friends, who I like very much and who asked me to visit them, before starting my unterminated travell through South-America (because otherwise it is a little bit uncertain, when I will be able to visit them again). Therefore, I will start my journey in Barcelona (Spain), to visit Anca. We met this year, when I was in Barcelona with a friend of mine (Bernhard). She's an ex-working-colleague of my sister Sabine from Romania. She "just" one day "quitted" her [View Full Entry]

Friday 13th June Back on the coach, to find our way out of the Czech Republic. A long road, and we don’t quite make it across the border before Freddie’s drivers hours run out, so we stop at a service station for 45 minutes. Next obstacle is getting a refund on the Czech Road Tax. The border “sends us to the Devil” (service station) - but their machine is not working, so we welcome everyone back into the Czech Republic having already welcomed them to Austria! The other Devil service station also works and thankfully we get a rebate along with [View Full Entry]

Don't worry, I won't write in spanish! :-) I would, if I could ... but I'm sure my spanish-teacher is reading this and she'll for sure figure out, that I'm using an online-translator and then ... ... ;-) Has quite been some time since my last blog-entry - the reason is, that I don't have the time, to write that much. Yes, yes, I can almost hear you say: You have no time? You don't have to work! What are you doing the whole day? Well, that's really a good question ... in fact, time goes by so quickly and I [View Full Entry]

We left Bavaria today for the last leg of our trip... a tiny town in Austria called Hallstatt. A lake on one side and a mountain on the other, the town is so small, they say you can walk from one end to the other in about 10 minutes. Mom and I tested this theory when she decided that we needed to go back to the parking lot to retrieve something from the car. Angie said she would sit down and have a beer while waiting for us, and we set off in search of the car. She should have known [View Full Entry]

Today I've finally made up my mind, to change my "operation schedule". This is mainly because of two reasons: 1.) Seasons in South America are different to ours about 6 month. This means, that when whe have summer, there's winter in South America (of course, not all the country). That means, that winter is almost starting there at the moment and if I go there in June, it definitely will not be the best time. In contrast, every month I go there later, the weather will improve. 2.) According to the Austrian-law, one get's unemployment compensation, if he has been working [View Full Entry]

Climate-News!

Europe » Austria » Upper Austria » Steyr
Yes, I know - it's unbelievable, but I did have the time to check some climate-tables! :-) I'm not quite finished yet, but I've added some interesting information about the climate-zones in South-America and the best time to visit the countries. So here's the link to the actual excle-file: Reisebewertung 190408 [View Full Entry]

Now here's the story and it's up to you, to make up your mind: 2 weeks ago I went for lunch with an ex-working-colleague of mine. He told me great news, about the department I've been working and has big plans for the future. He also asked me to stay at the company and to work together with him to fulfil this plans. It really sounds like a great future and the opportunities he showed me, are amazing. It's like my past-dreams of climbing the social-ladder are coming true. Because he's not only a working-colleague, but also a good friend of [View Full Entry]
