The people in Trinidad are absolutely the nicest people on the face of the earth. I want to move here immediately. But first, let me tell you about it... I sat next to a really nice Trinidadian on the plane, not that I really chat it up with people on planes, but we talked toward the end of the flight and turns out she is in policy and her sister works for the people that pay my bills former owner in New York and knows this Trinidadian at my work that I know. Everyone on the plane was falling over each [View Full Entry]

Well, you can be glad to read the first sentence....this entry won't be as long as yesterday's. Bet you all are wiping your foreheads in relief ey? hehe, yea, sorry, introductions are long, and I always get carried away. Anyway, to the entry, today, well nothing special happened, I simply got up, at 9am, maybe 9:02 or something, made beakfast, and ate, with my dad, all alone, since my sis' is in spain, and well my mom is in Germany, she'll be coming soon though. Then, I turned on the computer, and did a bit of school work.....it's alot of complicated [View Full Entry]

New Years 2007
New Years 2007
this was just another drunk party, and it was great....I think I never had a bigger hangover.
Institut Auf Dem Rosenberg Lisa Hirschmann My name is Lisa, and this is my very first entry in this blog, which I decided to create because, well first off, I love writing, secondly....I travel ALOT...and thridly, I kinda get depressed when I think about myself, 10 years from now, with absolutely no memory of the past, why you might ask, 'cause it's just sad. So this entry, I will just tell you a little, or a lot, about myself. So, let's see....I was originally born in Germany, Munich to be exact. Before I was born, or [View Full Entry]

Last Day
Last Day
at a carribean pub
We went to Charlotteville this morning and went into the town for the last time. Next we went to Flag Staff Hill, one of the highest points of Tobago, where you could see the Carribean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet. It was beautifully clear. Then we came home for lunch, and finally we set off from the house, for the last time, to go down to the south of the island to the Airport. On the way to the airport, we stopped at a Fort, where we saw some beautiful scenery. By the time we left Tobago, it was [View Full Entry]

Castara/Heavenly bay
Castara/Heavenly bay
our fave snorkelling spot
We drove to Roxborough, then drove back down to Scarborough where we got tonight's meal. We drove back to Bloody Bay via Hillsborough Dam. We got onto this very rocky and bumpy unmade road and drove quite a distance, and we found the dam, but no water! Mum thought saw a crocodile, but I didn't see it! We drove round in a massive circle and ended up back at Bloody Bay for lunch. We went for our last snorkel off Castara today too (BOOOOHOOOOO) and we saw 3 Stingrays! I think it was a Mum and baby, then a Dad on [View Full Entry]

On the beach
On the beach
Heavenly Bay
Spent the whole day at Heavenly bay/ Castara beach today. It was really good fun. We played in the sea and snorkelled twice, and we saw a ray! When we got home I looked it up in the tropical fish book and found out that it was a Southern Stingray! We could have got stung! There is a forest fire crackling away just down the road from where we are and I can smell the disgusting smoke! [View Full Entry]

On the Jetty
On the Jetty
Ready to go snorkelling on the reef
We got up quite early and went out on the glass bottom boat! We went all the way to Little Tobago, a much, much smaller island which is also a bird sanctuary. When we got there we snorkelled off the beach and saw some quite nice fish and brain corals. We saw a massive brain coral too, the biggest in the Western hemisphere. It was over 2,000 years old. Next we went to the Angel Reef on the boat. We snorkelled again and saw loads of fish. It was excellent. This afternoon we spent loads of time in the pool, [View Full Entry]

Snorkel Boat

I would say this has been the most funniest part of my trip and it was only the start, maybe because i so far away from home, or the parties here was wild!! I have never met soo many people in a period of one week in my entire life. The people here are soo friendly and open about everything, it just feels like having a second family. The lifestyle i must say is soo layed back that it feels like a holiday for everyone on this little island. Everyone here is high on weed or dancing somewhere on the [View Full Entry]

Waterfall
Waterfall
getting ready to take the plunge ( well go abit further in!)
We got up quite early and went too the Argyle waterfall. It was very nice. We got there and there were three pools. We started in the lower pool which was very shallow then got REALLY deep. It was very refreshing to swim over the 20ft deep pool to reach the waterfall itself and take a revitalising shower. Next we moved to the middle pool and had another swim. It was much smaller and shallower but the waterfall was much higher up. I had another tropical shower in this waterfall. We didn't bother to go to the top pool. We [View Full Entry]

Argyle Waterfall

We were originally planning to go on a glass bottom boat to the angel reef, but the car had a flat tyre! So instead we decided too go and explore Parlatuvier, the next village from Bloody Bay. We went down to beach where some more fishermen were fishing. Parlatuvier is quite a fishing community, because there is a jetty, and lots of small fishing boats at the end. We then went to a little store to get some supplies. We also went into a little bread shop and got some bread. When we got home, we decided to go to [View Full Entry]
