whereislolo - Lorena

Lorena Hi. I'm 22, done with college, currently working to save up for grad school in Europe, which I know will be an amazing experience and I want to document is as accurately as possible. Until then, I'll post about my future move to AZ, a few trips that I have coming up to my native Colombia, and stories of my past travels. I love travelling and I hope to always be able to do it. It's the greatest way to expand your mind, soul, and understanding of life.

Not only would it be less work now, but I'd be able to look back on many, many memories. So what I'm going to do is start chronologically since 1983. I'll try to be as brief and concise as possible -but careful not to leave the good stuff out- and get up to date. -Lolo [View Full Entry]

After living in Houston, TX for a year ('92-'93) we went back to Colombia. I went back to the school I had been going since I was a kid, and my brother started pre-school. 1994 Over the summer we did what every family with young children has to do at some point: spend a week in Orlando, FL, and visit all the kid-friendly parks. I remember having fun and complaining a lot because of the heat. 1995 Summer. A few days after I was out for summer vacation, my mom surprised me with a puppy. I had been asking for one [View Full Entry]

February 1992. My father was transferred again. This time to Houston, TX. I remember being extremely happy when I was told about, and come to think about it, I don't think I'd ever heard of Houston before, so I was probably just excited about the going to a new place. When we arrived, we stayed at a hotel for a couple of weeks, maybe a month. I don't really remember. It was close to the famous Galleria Mall. After Kristi Yamaguchi won in the 1992 Olympics, she went to Houston for a free show at the Galleria's ice skating rink. My [View Full Entry]

February, 1986 My father was working for an Exxon-affiliate in Colombia and he was transferred to Boise, ID. I know, of all places we get shipped to Boise. Everyone always makes a weird face when I mentioned I lived there. I really don’t have much of an opinion of it, as I was very young; I just have very vague childhood memories. My mom says she liked it a lot; it was a nice, quiet town. It only had one shopping center, and the first mall was being built when we left. I guess I can say this is when and [View Full Entry]

November 24th, 1983 It was a Thursday. At 6:00AM I came into the world. I was born at the Clinica del Caribe, in Barranquilla, Colombia. I was my parents' first-born, so in a way, I would become the guinea pig. So far the experiment has turned out nicely. About Barranquilla Barranquilla is a city in the northern part of Colombia. It lies next to the Magdalena river and the Atlantic ocean. It's only 18 meters above sea level and has an average temperature of 28C (82.4F). Its nickname, "La Puerta de Oro de Colombia" (Colombia's Golden Gate) symbolizes its history for [View Full Entry]
