After living in Houston, TX for a year ('92-'93) we went back to Colombia. I went back to the school I had been going since I was a kid, and my brother started pre-school.
1994 Over the summer we did what every family with young children has to do at some point: spend a week in Orlando, FL, and visit all the kid-friendly parks. I remember having fun and complaining a lot because of the heat.
1995 Summer.
A few days after I was out for summer vacation, my mom surprised me with a puppy. I had been asking for one for years, and finally they gave in. We named her Cookie. She was the cutest little puppy ever, and still is.
Over the summer we would frequently visit my dad in Cartagena where he had awork assignment. Cartagena is one of Colombia's oldest cities that still has it's old colonial charm from the time the Spaniards were around. The "old city" has the fortress-style walls to protect it from pirate attacks, Castillo de San Felipe is a must-see, and the food and cafes are great.
I'm getting married in Cartagena. I don't know when or to whom, but I do know where.
Christmas/New Years My aunt (on my dad's side) was living in Hayward, CA at the time. It's right across from San Francisco. My grandparents were visiting her and so my family decided to go as well. During our stay there we also took a little trip to L.A and to Lake Tahoe, where I skiied for the first (and so far only) ever.
Again, I have a bunch of pictures of all this, but I have to dig them out. I'll look for good ones.
