New York New York, it's a Helluva Town Right, so, coming to you live from Brussels, about 6 hours after I last updated, is Tristan, dishing all the goss on our time in New York City. We left Toronto around 8 and drove straight through overnight, stopping at Niagra Falls again, and so we arrived in New York City on the morning of the 9th feeling very tired indeed. However, time was precious, and our first order of business was to sell the car. To this end, we stopped at the State of New York DMV for some advice.....which was 'fuck off.' Basically, as the car was registered in California, they didn't want to know about it. The car went on the back burner temporarily as our second order of business was a place to crash ... read more

Allow myself to introduce......myself Hello again to all my faithful readers!! I am sorry time has not permitted me to update since Atlanta, but various events and cicrumstances have plotted against me, leaving me either netcafe-less or time-less, but, coming to you all the way from Brussels, Belgium, I'm here to make things right.....more or less. Anyway, last time you heard we had just finished up at the magic kingdom......(insert cliche movie flashback here) The 30th dawned bright as we ponied-up once again and hit the road south towards Tony Montana's town, Miami. Having not called ahead, Tony's goons weren't all that pleased to see us, so we checked into a cheap hotel on South Beach. It was merely adequate, only 1 double bed, so Chris and Brad would be on the floor this night, w0000t! ... read more

Georgia's on My Mind Sup peeps!! Welcome once again to the magic adventures of Tristan, Brad and Chris! Last time you dropped in we were in Austin, Texas, about to head to the Big Easy, N'orleans, or for those whose family trees have branches, New Orleans. Bidding farewell to our very generous hosts Baylin 'n' Beano, we hit the open road yet again. Having been told various ETA's ranging from 6 to 9 hours, yours truly behind the wheel decided time was not going to be a factor and mashed the pedal to the floor. It was all smooth sailing until about 2 hours, when we attracted the attention of the local constabulary. After removing the soil from our trousers, we faced up to Johnny Law. "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Says he. ... read more

Everything Is Bigger In Texas Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand welcome to the weekly-ish update of Tris's American Antics, taking you behind the scenes of the most audacious world trip ever!! I'll refrain from using big claims to make myself sound more impressive starting........now. Last week found us in Page, Arizona, so we'll kick it off from there. Fresh from a good night's sleep and a load of washing courtesy of Mrs Burke, we set out on the afternoon of the 18th on the way to Phoenix, by way of a hole in the ground made famous by the fact that it is, in fact, a FUCK-OFF hole: The Grand Canyon. Much of which can be said about this natural icon has already been said, but a few things must be pointed out, in order to give those who have ... read more

Is It Hot, Or Is It Just The Peyote? Previously, on the O.C.....errr, blog: - 4 desperadoes take Los Angeles hostage for cheap coronas. - Johnny Depp quits the acting business to focus on the management of his club after an anonymous blogster raises hell. - Collingwood lose....again. - Running out of gas in Nowhere, California nearly nixes the whole trip, but our plucky favourites pull through. In tonight's episode: - Some dodgy mexican floors our hero, only to have him return to top form for Sin City. - Rogue spaniard Carlos Sanchez departs for Oz. - Record heat in Las Vegas troubles the steed, but her noble spirit ensures safe passage. Right, enough bullshit. Last time i wrote we were on our way to Ventura/Santa Monica Beach, so let me take it from there. Taking ... read more

I'm On The Drug That Killed River Phoenix..... .......but more on that later! Sorry to all for the lack of updates, It has been crazy busy around here the last few days, so let me fill you in. Like i mentioned in the last update, we arrived on the 3rd and from there.....pretty much fell straight to sleep. Being on the go for upwards of 24 hours, sitting in one spot, really takes it out of you. I dunno how I let myself forget that every time i travel. But, moving on, sporting nothing more than a numb arse, on the 4th we checked out Vans, making a few appointments to see some for sale. The first one apparently didn't exist, he told us he was at #600, but the street numbers went 599, 601, 603...etc ... read more

Safe and Sound, but knackered Hey ya'll, Just a quick note to let you all know I made it here in one piece, we had a few dramas, we got delayed out of Melbourne for an hour or two, then in LA we had like a 3 hour delay, it was spent mainly sleeping, leading us to nearly miss our connection to San Francisco....luckily we woke up at just the right time. It was a good last nite in town, hit a few parties, saw most everyone i needed to, and sorry to those I couldn't. We tucked into some quality AB at the Blue and White, quality shit. Get into it! Anyway, it was a long 36 or so hours, we're here safe and sound in San Francisco, tired as ass. We'll spend most ... read more

T-Minus 60-ish Hours Time is running out and I am getting fucking antsy!!! So much to do, so little time....even less when you factor in i'll be boozing the better part of the next 3 days....out tonight with the lads @ PJ's (always a good time, despite what certain naysayers might tell you!), tomorrow watching the valiant Pies probably lose to the Power at the pub with Liam, and Saturday night at the Wellington with a bunch of work/other people to celebrate Gary's resignation this week and my pissing off for 2 months! Come 6am Sunday I'll either be: a) The walking dead, boozed off my arse, trying to convince the airline people i'm jober as a sudge b) Calling Mum and Dad asking for a lift to Melbourne Airport cos i missed my plane or, ... read more

4 Days and counting - Extremely Toey Hey all....For those that don't know, I'm off round the world! Chris, Brad and I are super-excited, as you'd probably expect. We leave Sunday and this is essentially a test drive of this journal site. This promises to be a lot easier, a lot more interactive and a lot cooler than emails. I'm finalising plans for the trip, making sure I get to see as many people as I can before I leave....the usual. 2 more games of soccer, 2 more shifts at work...it's getting much closer. I understand my writing style isn't to all tastes, and I apologise for that, and for any inevitable lapses in grammar or spelling. Anyhoo, welcome one and all to my travel journal, be sure to check in for regular updates. Leave your ... read more
