We're on our way to Sweden and Morocco and it's going to be interesting. I will try to write a few times but sanity will be the priority!

We're back! We had the best time....now it's time to clean-up. First, the rest of the trip. Amsterdam was excellent. Our last day took it easy. We had another big breakfast and then went for a walk around the flower market, bought magnets then back to the hotel. Rick spent the afternoon at the pool with the kids and I headed off for some shopping. Big fun. Off for dinner. Dutch food in a cool old building on the first canal in Amsterdam. Then....we had a babysitter for the kids for 4 hours!! Yeah! It was great going out and looking around Amsterdam on our own. The next morning we cleaned up and headed to theairport. The flight was super easy. The kids watched movies and hung out. Norah had a short nap but Evan made ... read more

It's almost over but we're having even more fun than when we started. I'm so happy to be able to drink the tap water!!!! On the plane from Marrakesh (what a gong show) Norah was counting down how many days until we go to Canada. Last night we told her it was onlt 2 sleeps and she said "that's not enough time!!!!". I think that's a good sign. Amsterdam is a perfect way to end the trip. The hotel is excellent. Quiet, helpful, warm pool, huge breakfast. Perfect. We have been walking around with the stroller so it's nice not having to carry the kids. We rented bikes yesterday and had an amazing time. The kids got to sit on seats in the back and were happy as clams. We went to the Van Gohn museum. ... read more

Well, we're back in Marrakech and getting ready to leave for Amsterdam early in the morning. Essaouira was an excellent place to spend a few days realxing. Yesterday we rode camels on the beach, played in a playground, built sand castleas and walked into town. For lunch we picked out fish, shrimp and calamari and they grilled it up at the fish stall in the port. Perfect. We topped it off with ice cream in the big square. Back to the pool and the turtles for the afternoon and another nice dinner in the hotel restaurant. This morning was a leisurely breakfast and clean-up to get ready for the bus ride. There was a family from Alaska, working Germany, at the hotel and they had a boy who is 5 1/2. Evan and he got along ... read more

We're at the beach! The bus ride yesterday was 2.5 hours and very uneventful, yeah. When we got off the bus there were no taxis so we hired a guy and his wagon to take the luggage and the kids to the hotel. These kids are ready for any mode of transportation. The riad/hotel is beautiful. The best so far. We have a great big room, the pool is warm....ish and it's quiet. Last night we settled in and went for a long walk on the beach. There was a cool little playground so the kids got to burn a little energy. We walked around the port until sunset and then had a nice fish dinner. The munchkins went straight to sleep. This morning we had a great breakfast of chocolate croissants, crepes, hot chocolate, fresh ... read more

We're in Marrakech sitting our room listening to a crazy thunder storm. Lucky to be inside and not wandering around the medina! On Wedensday we got up early and took the long long train ride to Marrakech. It was 7.5 hours but what a great way to travel. The kids could move around, look out the windows and play with their toys. A movie break gave us a short window of happy silence. I think our fellow compartment mates appreciated it. We arrived at the most fantastic trainstation I have ever seen. It must be pretty new but was a great change from the grit of Fes. Our next hotel, Morocco house was a crazy explosion of colours in the new part of the city. Our room is the grand suite. It's nice having a sitting ... read more

Hi, I am writing this in the dark while Evan and Norah have a nap. Everyone was up late last night and early this morning. Norah always gets us up early with a "It's morning time!!!!" Just because it is light out! Rick is odd exploring the new medina on his own. Sunday March 22 - So, we had a good night sleep and we were ready to look around at what Fez had to offer. We met the driver at the coffee shop nearby and headed into the old medina. It was built in the 12 century. As opposed to the new medina built in the 1300's. The old medina has hundreds if not thousands of tiny streets so we really had to have a guide when we are trying to keep track of the ... read more

And I thought the lst keyboard was crazy. Q is where a should be and I just spent a minute trying to find z. Good thing I look at the keys when I type. beware of no spell check and very bad grammer. Stockholm seems like a million years ago. The drive was great. We found the B&B easily and took the train into town. It was cold and windy but we ate hotdogs and watched a ski race through through the city. We were tired so we bought pizza and went bqck to the room and watched animal planet. In the morning we had a huge breakfast. The kids standard foods are now boiled eggs for breakfast and pizza for dinner. train into town again and then a ferry to a little islqnd to see ... read more

Hej, it has been a heck of a week. This is going to be a long one because it is going to be our record of the trip so please skip over what you want to. We left Härnösand on Friday when we finally got up at noon and began driving south. It was a great drive with the kids just playing in the back and then Norah took at nap. We decided to stop for lunch in Gävle. We walked around the outdoor mall until we found....sushi. Perfect for everyone. We then drove west until we got to the small village Camilla lives in, Grängesberg. It was friday evening by this time and they were are all very excited that we made it with out even asking for directions. they said the people from Götenberg ... read more

Well, we saw the bridge today and it was great. Very cool bridge even if it was a 3 hour drive to get here. We're staying in a hostel in Härnösand. The kids are in bunk beds and are really comfortable. Last night we had dinner at local restaurant and Rick's friend Leena met us there. We talked until the kids went squirley and then headed home. The kids went to sleep right away but Rick was up at 3am and went for a 2 hour walk. Jet lag is crazier than ever with kids. This morning we were up at the crack of 10 am and out on the road at 12. Straight up to the bridge for a little looking around. Very cool and cold. When we got back to the hostel we had ... read more

Hi, we made it to Sweden and are in great shape. Everyone has gone to bed already because the only problem was that no one got much sleep. The trip was excellent. When we were driving up hear Evan said this is now his new favorite fun day ever! That's pretty amazing after 18 hours of travel and me saying "don't touch that!" 30 times already. Norah was very excited when we got to Sweden. "We're in SWEDEN?!?!"We decided not to push our luck and watched the disney channel in our room and brought in food from the restaurant. We are staying in Uppsala tonight. We're off to Harnosand in the am to see the high coast bridge. Rick is getting excited and keeps remembering Swedish phrases that he thought he had lost. Yes, it's snowing. ... read more
