Mold
A positive thing about Hangzhou is since it is colder the mold isn't as bad here, but we still have a little of it. Bleach and hot water always do the trick.

from wikipedia
Magnolia denudata, known as the Yulan magnolia (Chinese: 玉兰花), is native to central and eastern China. It has been cultivated in Chinese Buddhist temple gardens since 600 AD. Its flowers were regarded as a symbol of purity in the Tang Dynasty and it was planted in the grounds of the Emperor's palace. It is the official city flower of Shanghai( and Dongguan, Guangdong).

Auntie
This is a cute story as so many times the parents are "harassing" their children to say hello to the foreigner. I have had parents push their 10-12 year old children at me to speak English...awkward for all of us.

Beautiful
I drove through Flagstaff and the Sedona area when I moved from IL to CA after graduating college. The colors are just amazing and I don't think I would ever get sick of looking at them.

What lovely photographs of the Sedona area - thanks for sharing!

The Tea Market
Out of curiosity how much did you spend on your newest tea set? We are looking to get one tea set similar to this before we move back to the US this summer. Our friend took us to a tea set market here in Hangzhou and we looked around but weren't ready to buy just yet.

Golden Week
Thanks again for taking the time to share with us when you go on your adventures. We always say, "We wish we could have done some of the things that you get to do. And we are, when we go with you on your trips by reading about them. We have learned so much from you about China and other places you have gone to. Continue with your work and travels, cause one day when you are married with children of your own, you have so much to share with them. Its beautiful in Prescott today, shine is out and blue skies. We saw your mom and dad out for a walk. You have wonderful parents, we are blessed to know them. Take care, be careful when you travel. Beaman and Patricia Wisdom

tourist's in the city
My wife and I stayed in Hong Kong in the Mong Kok area when our son and his wife were touring the world and we would meet them in Honkers. What a city!!! we went to the top of the mountains and to the Big Budda on Lantau Island with the longest cable car stretches in the world. the night markets were fantastic, but trying to stop the wife from buying stuff was nigh on impossible, the light shows over the harbour were out of this world. we ended up cramming everything in one bag, the wife's and I had a full bag of our kids stuff to bring back for them 26kg of it. Stay Safe and enjoy, its a big world go and have a look is what we say.

Blue Skies
That is crazy how they cleaned the skies up. Now if they could just put those rules into play everyday across China. Shenzhen is a new city with all the subway lines open now.

Fantastic ideas!
I loved this! I read this out loud to my 2 daughters and we had some great laughs. My husband, youngest daughter and I have lived in the Shangia area for the past 2 yrs and will be moving to Shenzhen in Sept. I had casual weekly English class/"English Corner" for my husbands co-workers and really enjoyed the opportunity to get to know them.

Job security
If these menus are any indication, you should have lifetime job security teaching English in China.

Now that is a mess!
Hopefully they will repair it in the 3 days and not make it 3 weeks. Good luck.
