18/06/09 After waiting for nearly 3 hrs Angela said she had read of a place run by a trench man and a Swiss woman and so we set off for Dolche Vita which was surprisingly close to town and they had one room left. The place was marvellous after spending nearly a week in sub standard acc it was great to have a comfortable bed and a very hot shower! 15/06/09 Woke up after not such a good nights sleep, the bed being concave and offering no support at all, oh how I miss the holiday Inn! Went to town again and had another meal at Dumbo’s it is good food at a reasonable price. Emma and Lisa went looking for a way to get to Rio for the 27th but did not have much lack, the prices being $325 lack excl tax. Well I have now arrived in Bolivia and so feel it necessary to leave a few notes on my feelings about the country of Peru. Firstly the guide books are correct, Cruz del sur is the best bus but Cial is also good, the food is just not the same std. If you have the extra 20 soles go first class, you will sleep! The roads vary from ok to terrible! The beer is great but stay away from too much negra beer it gets to sweet after one bottle. If you don't like potatoes and rice don't eat Peruvian food. 05/06/09 Woke up this morning rather excited I had waited really 20 yrs since I had first seen Machu Picchu on the TV and now I was actually going lo climb her. 29/05/09 Arrived at 8 lust night and got a taxi to a lovely hotel. After quite a few nights of not sleeping well it was nice to just lie in, so we only woke up in Huacachina at 10. Checked out of a lovely hostel the best so far had its on pool and very nice rooms. Climbed the dune overlooking the oasis , fortunately I did not have my backpack or I would have died! 27/05/09 Today we are having a more leisurely day as we wait for our bus to paracas at 2:00. Got onto the internet and started of learn some Spanish so as to have a better understanding of what is going on around me. I would highly recommend learning some Spanish before you come here, it will make your trip enjoyable and you are less likely to be ripped off. 24/05/09 Had a couple of hours sleep and then went out in the afternoon to see Lima with Arthuro who arranged our acc Casa del Arthuro which I would recommend highly however he speaks only Spanish and French. Lima is an amazing city with (even by my standards coming from Africa ) the worst roads I have ever seen!!!! For my trip I brought a mini laptop (get a netbook,an eee or the n10 from Samsung) they are the lightest with the best battery life as well, mine needs an external keyboard to be any good which broke today so get [View Full Entry]

22/05/09 After a little trepidation i arrived on the real beginning of my trip , the first bit of unknown New York and the states. Arrived via LAN which I would highly recommend , they are prompt and very friendly with an almost limitless amount of programmes to watch on the short one hour hop from Toronto to New York. Got off and quickly onto the bus into Manhattan but with a bank holiday weekend the traffic was worse than normal and unfortunately it took the best part of an hour and a half to get to the drop off for [View Full Entry]

Well i have now traveled round Ontario and into Quebec and these are my thoughts.
