Up at 6am on the road by 7am heading to Zion National Park ($25 but we had our pass). Had breakfast from the food we had in the chilli bin in the car, sunscreened everything and took the shuttle bus from the visitors centre at just after 10am to the end stop 'Temple of Sinawava'. The trip there was dreadful because they were doing roadworks and what should have been 45 minutes took 2 hours, was about 34 deg and hotter on the bus. We drank a bottle of water, so glad to leave that vechile. Did the 'Riverside Walk' following [View Full Entry]

June 12 2008 (2nd entry) As Aurora and Taiga were not to good we headed to Seldovia. Took about an hour. seldovia is further out in the Cook Inlet not accessiable by road "home of 307 friendly people and a few oldcrabs" that it the town slogan. We laughed as John was told off sternly by the severe looking woman harbour master (obviously on of the crabs!) for going to fast. had a lovely lunch at the Mad Fish. Walkedaround, people fishing off the bridge you could see all the salmon coming up as the river was so clear, just amazing. [View Full Entry]

Friday June 13 2008 Drove to the condo to say our goodbyes to the girls - sad we have had such fun with the kids, Becky and Lisa and the food! Wine was pretty up there as well. John, Mike and I went on 'Mermite' (Johns boat - named by Tayla after mermaids and marmite) over to Halibit Cove lagoon. Stoppped at the trail head for a quick look then fished for salmon, none about. All the locals cant beleive it. Todd arrived in his water taxi and we followed him out of the lagoon. Stoppped and fished off 'righthand beach' [View Full Entry]
