Plymouth for the long weekend (Extra long as we take the Wed, Thurs & Friday off) woohoo! Lots of sun and sea! We leave the Midlands on Wednesday around 10am for the 4 - 5 hour journey to Plymouth. An absolutely gorgeous day, which is great on one hand, bad on the other, as the car is not air conditioned. We only have one stop on the way so we can get there as soon as possible. The views on the way down are beautiful English country side. We arrive in Plymouth around 3.30pm to find we are right next to Sainsburys (supermarket) which is a bonus, as we can grab a few things to eat in the hotel. The hotel room is lovely, large room, champange waiting for us, big bathroom, really comfortable bed and ... read more

The evening started with me rushing around trying to put together my outfit (pirate gear) at the last minute (as per usual) but after a good hour we headed to the Red Lion for a couple of drinks before our hummer limo picked us up at 7.30pm to head to Nottingham. The hummer was a surprise for Ria (hen) and you should have seen her face when it turned up... well actually you should have seen all our faces, it was amazing and massive! inside it had lava lamps, blue lights, tv screens, sub woofers, and of course champange! I thought that I wouldn't like champange since I don't like wine, but it actually went down very nicely. (Expensive taste) the drive there got us all in the mood for what should be a great ... read more

It's been another long weekend and of course we had to make the most of it, so we headed to Manchester City! We arrive Friday night after a long train ride, changing three times, and because of a delay on one train we missed the next one and ended up being 40mins late. It's all apart of the adventure and joys of public transport. Of course being the long weekend the weather was crap! Lots of rain, wind.... Typical English weather! Our hotel was lovely, straight across the road from the Manchester football stadium and the first thing I noticed was how strong the accents were, just like Coronation street! Saturday the exploring begun after getting directions from the reception staff we made our way to the Tram station, only to find that we had ... read more

Today Kevin and I went to watch Justin Timberlake in concert in Birmingham. We caught the train to Birmingham giving us plenty of time to get there as I had taken the day off work and Kevin finished work early. While we were walking around like mad people trying to find the NIA we saw lots of beautiful parts of Birmingham so look out for that entry in the near future, as we plan on taking a day trip out to Birmingham to do some sightseeing... PLUS they have one of the biggest malls EVER! so we will definitely be going there. Anyway once we found the NIA there were of course lots of young screaming girls everywhere! He had two starting acts, the first group I thought had some good beats and the people ... read more

Last night it was Kevin's cousin's surprise birthday party that his girlfriend organised. It was a hawaiian theme as you will be able to tell from the pictures! It was such a great night! I think the girls got tipsy alot faster as Hayley made a punch that was going down nicely for most of the girls. I had a glass but didn't like it as much as the others. Birthday boy was totally surprised when he walked in, he thought that he was going out to dinner with Hayley and that all his friends forgot about his birthday. He had no clue! It was great. All the girls were going a little crazy jumping/dancing around the lounge and once the guys had a few drinks they were just the same. We played a few ... read more

Well everyone easter weekend has passed and Kevin and I went exploring Torquay (Devon). After 8 months of living in the Midlands and not seeing the sea I was missing it terribly and what a fantastic time we had. It was beautiful! the weather was stunning our hotel was over looking the sea and only metres away from the town centre, what more could you ask for? We travelled down on the Friday night arriving late as Kevin had to work most of the day, luckily the traffic wasn't too hectic. Our hotel was on a steep hill right on the edge of a cliff over looking the water... when you walked in the main doors there was a huge chandaler over hanging a large round table with the biggest bunch of flowers. The hallway ... read more

The time had come for me to experience my first football match. Leicester city (Kevin's team he supports) vs West Brom. After watching a couple of movies with football hooligans I was a little apprehensive about the crowds and football fans. We arrive at Leicester stadium with hundreds of people walking around in blue, yellow & white Leicester shirts, scarfs, hats, flags everything you could think of. All I could do was stare in amazement trying to taking everything in especially once we had stacked up on supplies (food & drink) and walked into the grounds to take our seat. It was enourmous! People everywhere! we were postioned right behind the goal in the family enclosure, as I didn't want to sit anywhere else for my first game match to Kevin's dismay. It was ten minutes ... read more

It's Valentines weekend and Kevin and I decide to head away for the weekend. After many ideas from others we decide to head to Warwickshire near Birmingham. We set off straight after I finish work to our hotel on Friday night with directions from mapquest online although mapquest was a little wrong and a journey that should have taken 45mins, took around an hour and a half due to us getting lost! Once we arrived and found the car park the hotel was worth it. It's a gorgeous hotel set on a 19 acre plot of land, with restaurant, bar, full inside swimming pool, spa pools, sauna, gym, beauty therapy clinic and even room service (Which Kevin and I discovered on the first night). Saturday we head into Warwick to discover the Warwick castle. There is ... read more

The day starts with me travelling to London to meet up with Vicki (New Zealand friend) we are staying near Paddington Station and have plans to join the circle line waitangi day celebrations. The idea behind it is that a whole bunch of New Zealanders that are living in Europe all get together and hop on the circle line (Tube) stopping at every station and getting off to have a drink (basically a pub crawl). Apparently the pubs, tube station and police have caught on to this and pubs are not letting people in, tube stations won't let anyone on and police are everywhere! It was an amazing experience! First of all Vicki and I meet up with two of her friends, Mylka & Rob (couple) at Paddington station, the pub crawl started at 10am but ... read more

Road trip! Kevin & I pack all our bags into the car, anyone would think that we were going for weeks, but it's only two days. A girl can never be too prepared, hair straightner, warm clothes, going out clothes, casual clothes, make up, shoes, the list goes on. Kevin has one small bag containing everything he needs, typical! We get to Newcastle after a 2 - 3 hours drive arriving in miserable weather but not as cold as we thought it would be. Our hotel ends up being really nice and big considering I was trying to cut down on costs by going for a cheaper hotel. We settle in and I phone Vicki as we have plans to head out in Newcastle that night. I've heard so many good things about going out in ... read more
