Week 6 in Indian Hill with the Eaton family living with Andy Arrived with the family on Sunday night and met Colleen (mum), Chris (dad), Becka (16) and Declan (10). I am also living with another coach called Andy who already knows this family as he has lived with them many a times before! We went out for dinner to an Indian restaurant. They have a gorgeous husky dog called Blizzard, he is pure white! They also have two cats Coujo and Mole! (Last week the Sherwood's had 4 cats!!) Everyone has loads of pets over here! Week 5 - Enon Camp with Jimmy Collins and Rikki This week I stayed with the Sherwoods which was in Yellow Springs, the next town from Enon. No families from our camp volunteered to host us so the Sherwoods had volunteered as they had been to the Yellow Spring Challenger camp a few weeks prior and had hosted some of my friends. I lived with Jennifer(mum), Tim(dad), Andy (16) and Aaron (12). Jimmy also lived with us. I worked 9-12, 9-11 with the mini soccer kids, I had 6 of them and they were great! Then from 11-12 i helped out with the World Cup tornament with the older kids. Jimmy and Rikki also worked in the evenings but I had it off! Wahoo! Camp was really good, and it was a really hot week! We all watched the England game in the morning (pants) and then afterwards we set off to Chicago! There was about 5 cars going so we all went in convoy. It took ages to get there! When we finally arrived, we didn't park in the centre we parked out in the suburbs in the ghetto! It was very scary especially because it was night time! But then we got the train into the centre and booked into a hotel! We had 2 rooms that fit 4 people in, which we actually had 20 people in! Thurs - 24th June Usual coaching in the morning. In the afternoon me and my family went to the Salato wildlife centre, where they have lots of animals etc. Then we went to Elf Creek Vineyard and we got to see where the grapes are grown, how wine is made, where its kept and even did a tasting session! Went back to the fields where camp is and me and Pedro played a soccer game against loadsa american and mexican lads that his host family dad had arranged, it was fun! Fri - 25th June Did the usual coaching in the morning and did the closing ceremony with everyone else. My family were leaving for the weekend so I said my goodbyes to them and exchanged pressies! 21st June - Monday We are on a 4 man camp this week. There is me, Tom senior, Pedro and a new coach I hadn't met before, Rikki. I worked from 9-12. From 9-10 I assist the other coaches, and from 10.30-12pm i coach my mini soccer players. I have five kids this week. It was so hot today! I assisted Rikki for the first hour and then coached my kids, although we didn't do much because the kids kept moaning about the heat. In the afternoon I played basketball with the girls, played on the Wii, went to the local creek, went on the trampoline, watched Paige at gymnastics lesson and took their dogs for a walk. 18th June - Friday Coached as usual in the morning which went well, and did the mini presentations for all the players. Got some pressies off a kid's father, got mountain dew drink and lucky charms cereal (because they are banned in England!). Me and Tom junior then watched the England v Algeria game (boring or what!?). We then went to the pool for the rest of the afternoon. Later, we went to have some professional photos taken by Tom senior's host father, he took still photos where we were sat in the stands and some action photos of us doing volleys etc. I will try and get the link to show you the photos. 14th June - Monday Arrived at the new camp. This week I've got first kicks 9-10am (7 kids) and mini soccer 10.15-12.15 (10 kids). Today it was chucking it down so we had to go inside which made is very difficult and stressful as they kids just ran around chaotically! Me and Coach Tom Junior then went round some local shops, Walmart, Dunhams etc lots of guns everywhere which was very scary eeeek! And a lot of hillbillies too! When I got home in afternoon, me and the kids went on the inflatable slide in the back garden, which is a slide which squirts water down as u slide down - its fun! Weds 9th June. Woke up to thunder and it was chucking it down! So I did all my coaching indoors with the lil kids. In the afternoon, me and my family and some of the other coaches all went to the Pro American Football Hall of Fame. It was really good and made me want to go and watch a live game!!!! My family are Pitsburg steelers fans - so I am now! The rain had finally stopped for my evening session so that sesh went went. Then afterwards, Patty (my host mother) took me to a Vegan restaurant! It was owned my Chrissie Hynde, the guitarist from the Pretenders. The food was so good! It was so good to have so much choice (everything was vegan on the menu!) I liked going there! 8th June 2010! I'm staying with a lovely family in Canton this week - mum, dad, two sons and two daughters, and a rat-terrier dog! Their house is on a lovely cul-de-sac and it is massive! When I arrived on Saturday, all the soccer coaches stayed in a hotel in Cincinnati. A few of us went out that night to a bar in the middle of town, which was a good night to get to know everyone again. Sunday morning we set off driving to our destinations - mine and 4 others travelling to Canton, 4/5 hours away. I was handed the keys to drive so I was very nervous but driving was fine!!
