A CAR! Lukey,
It was so good to hear your voice yesterday. I can't believe you bought a car...you have to put a picutre up of it! Mom, is a little uncertain about this. Your setting up roots. ! Well, I guess I can always go over there and drag you back home :-)! Love you and definately missing you...Sis
Oh ho ho! So, I see we're trying a bit more than meat pies now? Is the beer good? ;) Haha, looks like you guys are having a blast!!! It's fun to travel by the seat of your pants, huh :) Love from Afghanistan - Kelsey
homesick !! hi Luke, your photos are making me homesick !!. Wanted to let you know I am still trying to contact a couple of friends who may be able to help you including an Avo farmer in Te Puke, will let you know. I am off to Aussie for 10 days on the 16th and will spend about4 hours at Auckland airport on the way back ( what a tease) just enough time to scoff a meat pie and some pineapple lumps - have you tryed them yet ?

kitchen help? Evan - great to see you working in the kitchen again - (maybe you've found your calling after all?!?!) Thanks for the great pictures, looks like an interesting place, have you had any meat pies? Wondering if the hot springs are part of the resort/spa? How far away are they? Mom
Hi Bro (luke),
Missing you...the whole fam. is on whidbey island for a few days so I have the house to myself. Trying to take an advantage of it and get a lot of work done. Advent starts in two weeks! Please come home for christmas...we need you! :-) Love you and praying for you.
Sis
Goodonya Hey Boys, nice work finding a good job so fast! Hope you're drinking lots of Milo and not eating too many steak pies (cows died for that you know). Working on finding you guys some cheap tickets over to Sydney, since you're apparently rolling in the dough. Think you can make it over for the U2/Kanye West show next weekend? mwah ha ha. I MISS YOU!
good to hear you guys are having fun, getting drenched and getting some good adventuring in! Sorry to hear about your beef jerky evan- but that stuff was super tought anyways!!! =) Love you guys and Luke! Man, when you get back we'll have a year and a half of stuff to talk about!
travels Actually lots of people in New Zealnd haven't ever even left their certain region. We've met quite a few kiwis that haven't traveled the SOuth Island.
ho ho ya I'm ok, but that two weeks of no painting really got to me. A decent hourly wage for a backpacker is about $10-11.50 per hr. But hey, eating roadkill really isnt that bad. A little peanut butter, some soy sauce and it go's down quite nicely. Coming out isnt so fun.......
And it begins! I'm glad to hear it! I hope you guys have a frickin' awesome time! Take care and watch out for little crazies crusin' around. :)
Love, Katie

Way to not know where you'll be sleeping. And do keep telling us who gives you rides! I expect we'll see the trend that they're mostly people who have travelled before. But then again, who in New Zealand hasn't travelled before?
whew! Thankful the air trip is over! No major headaches? You didn't mention LAX, did you connect with LM? Assume both backpacks made it? So glad you found Luke in that big city! Did either of you buy a phone card yet? Thanks for keeping us posted. We're missing you already! Mom
I travel to experience the different lifestyles and perspectives of the billions of people and thousands of cultures with whom I share this great blue orb on which we strive to survive. Dig it.... full info
