I'm hangin it Switzerland st the moment in the beautiful city of interlaken. Its a bit touristy but surrounded by crazy mountains and lakes, and theres a few chill hostels. Since I last wrote I went through Belgium, Luxemburg, and France. It took me a long day of hitching to get from Brussels to Nancy, in France. Met a few cool people, most of whom I couldnt really hold a conversation with my miniscule french vocabulary, but it worked out. Got stuck in a three hour traffic jam and ended up changing rides in the middle of stopped cars on the highway. The city of Nancy wanst too appealing to me, so I caught a train from there to Marseille. It was good to see the ocean from afar on my train journey, but it was ... read more

Since last I wrote Ive been on two 4-5 day long treks and done a lot of random other things such as canyoning in freezing rivers with dead rats, crossed rivers with ropes and adrenaline, and climbed higher than my mind thinks is chill. First trek we did about two weeks ago was cool but not great. We hiked up to an awesome mountain lodge where we stayed for two days rock climbing on the amazing routes that were everywhere. Were not allowed deoderant or showers, so cramming 17 smelly dudes in one room gets pretty toxic. I dig it though, makes you appreciate cleanliness that much more. After amazing views and climbing, we hiked all day to a cave entrance. Before that there was a sudden lightening storm and we were all advised to spread ... read more

Hangin in Schladming. Chill little ski town, but without snow theres a ton of awesome hiking and big rivers. Been pretty busy testing out everyones gear to make sure it works and making sure everyone can carry a pack alright. Everyone,s forgotten something. Some people didnt even come with sleeping bags. Ive needed to get a bunch of waterproof stuff, as the "water resistant" stuff gets soaked in ten minutes of walking in rain. The outdoor store in town must make half its income off of us. Altogather theres 37 students, but we split into groups of about 8-10 people for the trekking. Crazy wide variety of people. A lot of canadians and germans. One dude from romania. Its been raining on and off ever since I got here, but when its not its pretty nice. ... read more

So I'm switching to travelblog.org cause blogspot.com sucks. Went on a hike with the brother today up to Le Grammone. Steep as a mofo, but worth it ten times over. It seemed like the top of the world once we hit the top. There was an older man at the top with a parasail waiting for the wind to pick up, but the clouds rolled in so he had to nix that. About a third way up is the town of Le Flon, which is about as quaint and alpine as you can get, with amazing views on all sides and a green-blue lake. Had an awesome dinner of curry and vino and am ready for the 9 hour train ride to Schladming, Austria.... read more

Well, I have finally broken free of my lazy spree and gotten to blogging again. Yes yes, I am alive and well and still walking. I am still residing in Raglan at the moment. I came back from the east coast for Soundsplash, a reggae festival held here. It was an awesome festival, with lotsa crazy hippie's and such. Good cheap food as well. In a few days I'll be heading down to the South Island with some friends where I plan to start solo-ing it and see what happens. I'm not really looking forward to hitching everywhere again, but it can narry be helped I might be hooking up with Luke somewhere along the way, which would sweet. Apperently the south is more rugged and not as populated, so that'll be cool. I'll hopefully be ... read more

The days pass quickly here.... we got a job as painters (hooray), but we're lucky because everybody gets here and wants to stay so there aren't that many jobs available. Raglan is cool. The life revolves around the morning surf report. It's cool to have so many people around to chill and just wanting to surf. Here are some pics of everything since Hot Water beach; including a pic of a sweet raggae concert last weekend. There seems to be a big raggae scene in New Zealand and there are loads of shows to see around here. Last week we went golfing at a course that was really nice, but they can't afford a gardner so there are sheep everywhere. Things like that make this country so cool. Other then that, everything is well and we're ... read more

So after a few days of indesiciveness, we are in the little surfing town of Raglan. We stopped through at Rotorua, but the jobs looked scarce and the whole place stank of sulfer. We've been wanting to check this place out, and so we just booked it here. It's a pretty cool place, and now that we want to do some surfing, this looks like a good place to learn some more. So far it looks like getting a job here won't be too dificult. We're staying at a hostel now, but might move onto a campsite or something soon. ... read more
