To hell and back I bet it did feel like that at first but 'while in Rome' you have to go for it you might never have the chance again to do something like that again or want to , it looks wonderful as I can't feel the cold here but what an amazing sight .
Same time next week ? Fair play to you both, that sounded Horrendous yet exhilarating at the same time and its inspired me to got and climb that big hill on Campbell Park!!
Scam You did well to get clear of your "helpers".I had heard of that scam being widely used in Bacelona where s**t is sprayed onto your sleeve, hence your valuables disappear like magic.Pleased you enjoyed Bolivia though, look forward to reading about Argentina.Love Ya TrevXX

salt but no pepper Fantastic blog, like you knew very little about Bolivia so I am seeing it through new eyes, the area where the cactus growing on the salt flats is amazing. Like the hotel with no roof, different or just letting the light in. Love the pictures looked like you were having fun.
All salt and no vinegar Great blog again!!Love the minime photos.Hotel de sal sounds amazing, how many people have stayed in an hotel made of salt?

cannot believe it Just sent your blog and turned the tele to see Ian wright travelling to Bolivia at lake titicaca Le Paz and the salt lakes in Uyuni He is in the palazio de sel and everything is made of salt the beds are made of salt the chairs and the dome of the ceiling how weird is that, apparently it tastes fowl you apparently have a dry sauna and then a lithium bath!!! around the edges of the lake are huge cactus and llamas the cacti are fab. the sunsets and sunrises are fabulous(acording to the tele)feel as if we are there with you it is bizarre we are all sat around the tele imagining what it must be right for real!!!!The salt is blinding apparently so sunglasses to the fore, Are you going to Uncia? the home of San maguel it looks great as they have a fiesta to the saints. Ian wright has just done *the bike ride* which looks very very scarry (think you made light of it) welcome to the road of death! was the first sentence Ian Wright said!!!! although the scenery looks fab we are so glad we saw the film after you did it!!!!!Do take care our intrepid travellers and to anyone reading if you can check into Globetrekker on the travel channel it will be well worth it!!

Biking high Great to hear from you the blog is fabulous and I think the sunset the best ever, the country looks fab, and the photos terrific, great story also. As you are on to La Paz guess the biking is inevitable will it be from La Cumre a mere 15400ft above to way down in the jungle, watch the saddle sore end!!! the sight looks incredible.
Take care our intrepid travellers, and if you do ride take extra special care no free wheeling!!! love you both our intrepid travellers. xxxxxxxxxx
Que Pasa! Hola amigos,que tal.
After my studies of South America I thought Bolivia would have been a country to avoid, how wrong could that conclusion be!this has been one of your best blogs yet.I supose it must be the fact that It is probably one of the most little known countries.I love the rural "feel"of the place and sounds like you could completely destress there.By the way are you two going to learn the tango when you get to Argentina?
Hasta Luego. Trev.
Living Vicarously Through You Two Ince We've Been Back in the US Hey there! It's Alicia and Eric - two of the "bloody Inca Trailers" you met on the train to Aguas Calientes. ;) We have continued to follow your trip since we've been back and get excited everytime we get to read a new entry. You have inspired Eric and I (and my brother-in-law Chris) and it looks like we are now planning to continue our travels around the world in 2009...with a focus on southeast Asia. So, now we are using your blog entries as a resource. Anyway, we are very excited for you guys and happy to have met you and wish you all of the happiness in the world in your future TOGETHER! Keep on travelin'! Alicia and Eric Gregory
Ripoff Well you have not done to bad all the different countrys you have been to and you haven't been ripped off so blatantly as that before, how much was it worth ,if he does that to everyone he will soon be able to retire.
They say it is the petrol stations that does it here with your credit cards
Congratulations!! Chris and i just wanted to congratulate you both on your engagement. Enjoy the rest of your trip and we look forward to seeing you both soon.
xx
Ha Ha Salma coming out at night, gave me a vision of the lady from Tom and Jerry "Thomas"!!! "Thomas"!!!!
I think the girl above missed out personally, nothing like getting the locals view on life.
Ah yes, Taquile island It was such fun to relive my visit to Puno( including the bus ride ) through your journal. I did not stay with a family ( sounds like a good choice on my part) but did get to walk up to the top of Taquile and down the horrible 500 stone steps. Damn near killed my knees.
More ruins await in Bolivia. Make sure you visit Tinawaku( not sure of spelling). The ride out there is interesting- note all the German churches in the middle of nowhere.
Travel on.

Do we regret our trip ? .......... absolutely not it was the best year of both our lives and even though we are now back home and things have already started to fall back into exactly the same places they were before we left...... we will alway... full info
