Travelled to the ShangriLa lodge in the jungle Ate soup at a roadside diner on the way, one of the girls had a surprise when she found a pigs tooth in it Fantastic views over the Rio Napa from the lodge Didn´t see too much wildlife apart from bugs! a few millipedes,snake, spiders etc plus the usual sandflies and mozzies. Did see a lot of indiginous animals at a wildlife sanctuary though. Stayed in wooden cabins, the lodge is in a beautifull setting Climbed a few waterfalls and did some jungle walks. Travelled from Cunca to a lodge next to the rio Verde. Nice and warm bit of rain though you´d expect this in a Cloud Forest Went canyoning, abseiling, zip wiring and scariest for me was a 6m jump into a waterfall pool Heading off to the real jungle soon, so we´ll drop 1000m to about 600 [View Full Entry]

Left the peruvian beaches for Ecudor Getting greener as we approched. Had left Peru then struggled to find the ecudorian imigration. Got lost driving round a really bust town swquare and ran out of diesel not ideal! Then regeseted with immigration, then struggled toi find more than 5 gallons of diesel at a time. The diesel is rationed cos its a third the price in Ecudor that it is in Peru Then driving through banana plantations, fells hot and humid. Heading to Cuenca at 2500meters. Arrived in Lima Peru No gutters or street drains here as it never rains! IT´s misty from june to november, so the sun only just breaking through now Did a city tour - a nice city, had chifa later - chinese, so eating pretty well Met up with the group, long drive out of lima to huaraz at 3000m in the mountains Raining when we got there! Headed in a trip from Huaraz to the Pastouri Glacier Stopped at 3700 meters for sweet cocoa tea, took a paracetamol as a precaution to the altitude too Stopped to photo the Bromeliads which look like huge cacti, and only grow in a few areas round here Got to the carpark at 4900m it was snowing, very pretty. We then walked up to 5100m at the glacier base. Today we´re off camping at the beach for a few days I cant believe how well we are eating everywhere, much better than i expected. Went from Huaraz to Huanchaco From mountain to coastal desert, was a long drive, especially for a few people who were suffering from Dehli belly!
