Machu Picchu Machu Picchu "Lost City of the Incas" OK Everyone so im here at Machu Picchu, but before i go into it all heres some facts that i copied straight from "es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machu_Picchu" Machu Picchu is a well-preserved pre-Columbian Inca ruin located on a high mountain ridge. Elevation measurements reports the elevation as 2,350 m (7,710 ft). Machu Picchu is located above the Urubamba Valley in Peru, about 70 km (44 mi) northwest of Cusco. Forgotten for centuries by the outside world, although not by locals, it was brought back to international atten [View Full Entry]

4 Day Trek Hi Everyone, So its the last week and i have just returned from Macchu Pichu, but before you can read and see the pictures from there you have to see how i got there first. 4 Day Trek Basically i set out to walk the Urubamba Mountains for 27 Kilometers over 4 days, this consisted of walking over the highest passable mountain peak of 4700 meters high. The days are hot and the nights cold but i was looking forward to the challenge of seeing if i could actually do what i had talked about doing since i [View Full Entry]

Finally here i am in Peru, Its a massive change of pace from BS AS and one that i am enjoying. I have been here one week now and have already done so many things, Despite my taxi drivers best efforts on arrving in Cusco to drive me through the worst areas i am loving the city. So whats happening. Well Cusco is 3300 meters above sea level so as you can imagine its very high, that makes it so hard to breath here but your body adjusts eventually. It is unbeleivably hot here in the day and so cold here [View Full Entry]

IGUAZU FALLS AND THE RIVER PARANA So here we go, finally after 7 weeks i managed to get to Iguazu Falls with 6 others from the school (the usual suspects so i need not introduce). Iguazu Falls is a totally amazing falls that is situated between Brasil and Argentina so you have to cross the border a hell of a lot. It is said alot that you get closer to the falls on the Agrentinin side but the brasil side has a better view. its probably a brazilian that said this but it is true, Also the river parana flows [View Full Entry]

PERITO MORENO I have just finished my excursion to Perito Moreno. Patagonia is a lovely place and the province of Santa Cruz that we are in apparently only has 200,000 residents and it is three quarters the size of spain and portugal which has 65 million residents so it feels like you are the only person here. On the first day we went hiking through the wilderness and around what is said to be the third biggest lake in the America,s. Amazingly we were supprised by a group of 20ish Pink flamencos who were sitting in some shallow water. Then the [View Full Entry]

Hello Again, just ot let you know that the good news is that i now have pictures. Firstly below is Plaza Mayo (pronouced in Argentina "Platha Ma-show"). It is Mayo by the way although you may see me call it Mayor in some places The big white obelisk is the piramide de mayo. a small obelisk built to mark the first aniversary of BA´s independence from spain. On thursdays at 3;30pm the madres de la plaza march around the square in their unrelenting campaign for a full account of dirty war attrocities. (See the Dirty War in Argentine history) Here also [View Full Entry]
