The Crew At Monumento Nacional A La Bandera
Left to Right
Luis, Hannah, Eve, Aybars *back*, Tati, Me and Jon Hola Amigos
So here it is (a little late i admit) week 5 and 6
So Everyone was expecting my tails from Chile, but a few things have happened and to cut a very long story short here it is.
Went to Chile friday 2nd i think and returned to BS AS on sunday 4th. so that was my time in chile, still i am very happy to be back in BS AS. And seeing everyone again.
So whats happening.
Well about 200 brazilians are now in the school which is very interesting, i have graduated to Nivel tres (Level three) spanish which is beginner intermidiate, although it feels like i know nothing now as there is so much i learning that i am forgetting all the things i already know.
But im assured thats the normal.
So what have i done, well i have bought new lots of new clothes and partied alot, also i have sat in various cafes for hours studying but whilst only buying one bottle of still water, the waiters dont seem very happy about it but i give them a nice tip when i leave.
Most significantly i have
The Crew At The Bus Terminal
Before the four Hour bus ride
Left to Right
Aybars *turkish*, Luis *Brazilian*, Adam, Jon and Eve *American*, Hannah *English* and the two little brazilians Lia and Tati. been to
Rosario (birth place of Che Guevara). Rosario is situated on the upper Parana river delta, 320KM from Buenos aires (which translates as a four hour bus ride) 9 of us decided that this trip would be worth it so we set out to Rosario and our new home of a dorm that slept 9 in a hostel somewhere in the town.
But we were looking forward to something new,
And as my lonely planet tells me *There are plenty of artists and musicians around, the galleries are good, the beaches are close and the riverside is happening, and if your not there then you should be* So what could be better than that............
However what my lonely planet did not tell me was that this only applies in the scorching summer heat and not in the winter of south America. Think Brighton beach in January and you have rosario in July................
Still it was nice to see,
History lesson ,
Rosarios first European inhabitants settled in around 1720 without sanction from the spanish crown. After independence rosario quickly superceded Santa Fe as the provinces economic powerhouse, although to the irritation of rosarinos the
provincial capital retained politcal primacy.
Unfortunatley during the economic decline and subsequent shipping activity during the 1960s there was a huge drop in the citys population and power. So now it is a quiet town that flourishes in the summer, and basks in tranquility in the winter months.
Anyway we had a good two days in rosario standing in the wind and rain looking at deserted beaches, and eating in restuarnts that seem to live and breath 80s rock.
Also we were followed by the friendilist stray dogs ever,
There is a massive monument to Manuel Belgrano who designed the Argentinian flag and is currently resting in a crypt below a colossal 78m tower for which you will see the pictures. It has fantastic views of the Parana waterfront.
So we walked alot and took many pictures before the bus ride home again.
So what next,
Well in 10 days i am off to Iguazu finally, well actually 9 of us are off to iguazu for the weekend and i cant wait, also being british i dont have to pay the astronomically immigration fees of all these countries that my american pals are
The Happening Beach
Now where did i leave my Towel all getting stung for ($100 usd each) to enter. Which ironically is because the americans charge everyone to enter their country so all the SA countries turned round and did the same to the americans.
Still i cannot wait it will be great,
Apart form that what else can i say, i am eating well, keeping well, Dancing well (obviously) and generally loving my experience, I am meeting so many people who are all really nice people.
Well everyone, take care and i will update you all again soon,
LASTLY. some messages.
