The Guide and I (The second mountain at the back is where we came from)

4 Day Trek

Hi Everyone,

So its the last week and i have just returned from Macchu Pichu, but before you can read and see the pictures from there you have to see how i got there first.

4 Day Trek

Basically i set out to walk the Urubamba Mountains for 27 Kilometers over 4 days, this consisted of walking over the highest passable mountain peak of 4700 meters high.

The days are hot and the nights cold but i was looking forward to the challenge of seeing if i could actually do what i had talked about doing since i got here.

Mountain walking is strangly liberating, and these mountains are so peaceful that you really appriciate the open spaces of the mountains. It is fantastic to look down deep valleys from really high up and try to remeber that it was really hard work to get there.

Sometimes we walked so high in the mountains that we were above the tree line so there was no vegetation, other times we were nearly in the cloud line and they seemend to be just over your head that you could reach out and touch

them.

I had a fantastic time, at night it was so pitch black that we would sit and look at the stars over head and it is amazing how many there are, also one night i saw 3 shooting stars in 3 hours.

There was only three of us on this trek plus our guide ("dimas") so it really felt like you were the only ones on the mountain.

It feel incredibl to know that i have walked such high mountains and manged it without having to be helped.

The most incredible thing is wehn you encounter the pepople who live there lives on the mountains living off the land and never enetering real society. After walking fro three days and at 4200 meters we encountered a school, it only had 6 pupils and they were ages 3 to 12. they were excited to see us and it was then you realised how strange we were to them as we entered there world. It makes you think about how we all live our lives the same but in very different ways.

We arrived in Machu Pichu on day 4 and it really felt like we
