Couldn't get up to say goodbye to Carol! ahhhhhh....but called her... well, will see her during Chinese New Years so it wont be too long...heeee Chi was so nice to drive me to the train station! So I hopped on the train and went to Arnhem, a city near the border of Germany. The city is really....boring? I went to the tourist info and besides museums and one church, they can't recommend anything else to me!...Oh well, my original plan was to go to the National Park anyways..haaa! The closest one is really close! 15 mins bus ride! Nationaal Park De Hoge Veluwe, with 5000Hectares of land..... There is this museum up north of the park, which is like 10km away from the entrance. Since every city is so closeby here, I decided to hop here and there!....Also coz I have came to realise...many Dutch cities really look the same...i mean, the colour of the bricks, the style of the churches! I took pix of all the churches and looked through them..really can't find any differences! OMG.. well..ya..minor differences like...the little arc on the door or sth..but still..... Anyways, first stop went to Haarlem...walked around the old town... First thing went to tourist info office and I HATE THEM HERE! All of them charge for everything!! even a small little map of the city!!! WTH?! No I have to walk around with no idea where I was walking to.. They ahd some signpost..but they liek to make you walk in circles!!!!! argh.. Haarlem was a nice town though, nice canals, ... read more

Woke up very early to take the train up to Groningen, original plan to go up to Friesland....but then the weatehr wasn't so good and it was a bit too far......-__-" Groningen......is a city....not a lot to see really...they had this nice design art museum but its Monday so its CLOSED! I got there around 1130am and all the shops open at like 1300 on Mondays!! WTH? so I arrived into a desserted city basically... Went to the tourist info office.....all maps and guides need money....so didn't get any, read a bit then walked out lu. All this time is was RAINING...!....sucks. tired and not in my best mood..... anyways, walked around and just stroll around the city....nice city! typical Netherlands with lots of canals and bricks..haaa..! So spent the whole weekend with Carol la! Yesterday, we went to Utrecht! a pretty big city ne.....main goal was to window shop....! haaaa! Sales time over and we can't afford to buy those expensive leather shoes......-__-" Walked around town...there werent a lot of sites, just a few old buildings and churches... Had some honey biscuit or waffers kinda thing, they say its very popular in Holland and its Delicious!!!!=) Didn't do much touristy things actually....haaaa... Was gonna try Mussels....but then couldn't find them in the supermarkets and went back to their house and made a wonderful meal of Wonton + Ngau Yuen Rice Noodles!!! OHHHHH..YUM!!! Killed another of my cravings!!! =D This morning took our time and then they drove me to the Windmill village in Zaanse Schans, its like 10 mins away from Zaandam!!..small ... read more

Rushing day, woke up early and stormed out to take the train to Namur, the region/city further south in Belgium. Belgium is dividied into two sections, the Dutch speaking - Flanders and the French speaking - Wallonia. People up North speak more English!!!!! At least thats the first thing I realize.... Anyways, arrived there, got ignored at the tourist office.....-___-" found out about the festival in the city through a book and went into the city. The day just started so most stuff were still being set up. Most concerts and stuff were at night....ahhhhh! that means I'll miss them..... anyways, walked around, most shops closed...just loads of food and beer on the streets... Had some nice cheese and potatos and ham.... It was great weather though, REALLY warm....=) Walked around a bit, not much to ... read more

Today, first went to Ghent.... Nice University town....Brugge was better though. Not a lot of must sees and the Gothic buildings were right in the market place so it cant be missed ne. Then went to the industrial design museum....had some pretty coool displays going on!!!! wanted to own like half of the stuff inside!!! like some wacky looking vaccum cleaner, oldold Siemens toaster oven...etc! haaaaaaa! Then there werent other museums to see so I took the train back to Brugge, to visit the Chocolate Museum I missed last time! It had a lot of history on cocoa...and how the different chocolates are made and stuff....pretty interesting=) but not as fun as I thought it would be ne.... DOne that and quickly took the train back to Ghent again to finish the unseen sights! haaaaa...just another ... read more

So true, for such a country, the train station of this capital really sucks. Stinks like a bathroom at first arrival...'There are major renovation going on I think so hopefully it will be better soooon.... Anyhow, this capital deserves more than a day to visit ga!!! but, limited time for me...haaa! First headed to the Mrkt Sq and WOWOWOWOW. The Kathedral there just comes right in your face and its facinating to seeeeee!!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! The arches.....the towers.....the white colour......WOAH....Loved it! and the tourist office is right there!!! haaaa! So, asked for info about the EU Parliament tour, which was sth I really wanna check out...then had some time before the tour so went to the Musical Instrument Museum. This museum had a HUGE collection of traditional and modern instruments and they have music to listen ... read more

So, today, spent the whole day in Antwerp! Started out late again....(so love to sleep-in!!!^-^) So started off with the Diamond museum! I didn't know Belgium was famous for cutting diamonds and being the trade centre for diamonds in Europe! It was interesting to know about the history and how diamonds are formed and so on... they had this audio guide with..TOO much info!!! holy...felt like going on 2 lectures of diamond history! haaaaa.... They do have some pretty shiny jewels on display..too bad I am not too into diamonds, yet. haaaa! Then, walked into the city. Antwerp is the fashion capital and its TRUE!!! OMG... so many nice stuff!!! especially, recently I got into looking at leather shoes for some reason.......but they are so expensive!!!! This morning slept in very late!!! Their beer here is surely GOOOD for me to sleep! and just learnt from a beer tour that they do add in these flower things and they actually help you sleep! Anyways, it was raining in Antwerp and its Monday as well, most museums are closed, so decided to take the train to Bruges instead. It was a quick ride and got there with better weather ne! The town was very nice....lots of gothic style buildings and chuches!!!!! The Church of Our Lady was very grand and beautiful inside as well!!!! The town Squares were nice and even with many tourists, it didn't seem too crowded..=) First went to the one and only local brewery for a guided tour. and wow, this town itself used to have over 400 breweries!!!! ... read more

Finally in Belgium! The train ride as very interesting. The first part within Denmark was alright, then from Kolding St. had to take a night train to Koeln in Germany. to save 16Euros, I decided to go for a seat instead of a couchette........I was lucky though! a lady left after a few hours and the compartment only had this English guy and me, so we both got to lie down and actally sleep!=) The train was delayed though, so I was worried as I have a connection train to catch.....then halfway through the night, the train hit someone ont he tracks!!! it was stuck for 2 hours!!!!!! OMG...I heard the noise and though it was just trees...then I saw all these firemen searching for things around the train............argh.
