Welcome Home
Dear Sue and Ron, Although it will be great to see you both next week, I will miss your blogs Sue. I feel the trip brought out even more of your creative side, your journalistic skills, your wordsmanship and a side we have not seen in your first 49 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed your trip, thankyou for sharing it so fully. I will start a campaign we should all go back to writing letters. Safe journey home, look forward to seeing you, no gold bands I hope. Love Always Mumx MIL2b

Hi Aunty, I have to say, the time hasn't flown for us. It already seems so long ago since we started in Rome. We now need to return there to catch our flight home, but that of course is a big problem at the moment. We just got on the net to see how we can get there by train and it is possible to do it. Only problem is it will take us 17 hours, then we catch our flight which takes another 21 hours. Doesn't sound very appealing but that's what we may end up having to do. The Cotswolds are gorgeous. We just love our little village cottage in Bourton-On-The-Water. I will hopefully get another blog up soon. I have actually loaded up the photos but internet access isn't great there. We are in Bath today for a day trip and I don't really fancy sitting in another internet cafe doing my homework for the next hour when we could be sight seeing. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the travel stories - there is so much to see out there and everyone has different ideas on what should and should not be visited. We are happy with what we have achieved. Anyway aunt, better get back out into Bath. Say hi to the family Love Sue and Ron xxx

Time Flys
Time flys when you are having fun. Doesn't seem like the eight weeks are nearly up. I am sure you will enjoy the Cotswalds. I will miss your colourful accounts of all the beautiful places you and Ron have been visiting. Mildura is experiencing a locust plague at the moment, the pests are everywhere, crunch under my feet and get in your hair. Yuk.We are told they will disappear when we have cooler weather, but it continues to be warm. Have a wonderful time in the last week of your holiday. Lots of love, Aunty Shirley

Hey Brit, Thanks for writing darls, that was a lovely surprise. You don't need to be jealous, you just need to start saving - it only took me 49 years, but here I am! Glad I waited really, because I think I appreciate it more now than I would have if I were a lot younger. That's not to say you should wait till you are 49 though. Thanks for filling me in on the boy. He sounds pretty good on the phone and hopefully this op is the end of his troubles. Say hi to Mum and the family, Love from Sue and Ron xxx

Hi Aunty, This is going to be very quick because this internet cafe is just too expensive (£1.00 for every 12 minutes!). Thanks for writing again. Apart from the worry of the volcano stopping us from getting to Rome on time, everything is wonderful. The little village we are staying in the Cotswolds, Bourton-On-The-Water is just delightful and we are very happy with the cottage we have booked for the week. You could always try to find an alternative travel partner so you can get back to Scotland. It was so lovely and the weather was perfect, as it has been here. Only about 14-16 degrees, but sunny and fine every day. Better go so I don't feed this cafe too much money. Love to everyone, Sue and Ron xxx

Hi Remko, Kristen and Co, Sorry for the short response, but this internet cafe is ridiculously expensive to use. Thanks for writing to me, glad you are enjoying our travels with us. Hopefully the volcano won't spoil our trip home because we are in England and will find it difficult to get to Rome to catch our flight home. Fingers crossed everything will work out and it won't be too expensive. Anyway, thanks again and hope you guys are all well. Love from Sue and Ron

Bonny Scotland
Hi Sue and Ron, just read your blog and saw the beautiful photos of Scotland. We loved Edingburgh too, we also stayed in a cosy Hotel just near the gardens and could see the castle above. All your lovely stories bring back many happy memories and I am getting itchy feet to return to visit cousin Margaret in Glasgow. (Don not so keen). It will be hard for you to settle down when you come home after all the visits to these exotic places. Love from Aunty Shirl. XXX

Hi Henk and Anja, I can only send a quick message because I am using the iPhone and it takes a lot longer. I'm glad you are still following our trip. We are have a wonderful time here in the UK. We are now in Scotland which is beautiful too. The weather is great - lovely sunshine and no coats or gloves! We actually did go to see the Sagrada Famiglia, but I had already written the blog. We tried again when there were no queues to get in and we were glad we did. We also visited the Gaudi designed apartment building on show 'La Pedrera' which was so interesting. I don't know if Henk will be able to tow the caravan to Ireland but I'm glad the blog got you interested. The people there were so nice but financially they are doing it tough so we were pleased to be able to give them our business. Better go, I'm using the free wi fi in a restaurant. Say hi to everyone. Love from Sue and Ron xxx

hey there
Hello Ron and Sue I did read the blog again. You are still making a wonderful trip. We did not like Bordeaux either and most of the time we dont like the Frenchpeople. But their country has very beautiful places. As I understand you didnot go into the Sagrada Familia,You should have because inside you can climb a lot of stairs and at last you have a beautiful view.Everytime we go there the Gaudichurch is changed again. We love to go there.Did you like the Paella, Henk loves it. Your description of Ireland is beautiful,we have never been there. Now I think we should go sometime. Have a nice trip in England. Bye,bye Henk and Anja

Fantastic
How fantastic :-) Can't wait to get back there myself - when we went over 9 years ago the foot and mouth disease was in full swing and a lot of the scenic areas were closed off however the people were great and that made up for it. Can't wait to hear your next chapter - all that planning sounds like it certainly paid off with such a great holiday - of course I know the company is a very important aspect of enjoying yourselves. Take care, Grainne

I am so glad you included Ireland, your account was fun to read. Did you try the Guiness Ron? Did you go to Trailee? We did and a guy song the song The Rose of Trailee for the benefit of the tourists, comes second to Danny Boy. The Cats did not sing yesterday, Freo did, so did the Demons, Saints, The Dogs,The Swans,The Lions and The Roos/and Bombers. Our Nick is going under the knife today for his Hammie! You were lucky to see The Cliffs of Mohar, for us it was windy, misty, rainy and difficult to see much at all. Looking forward to hearing about your exploits in Scotland, not too much of the Scotch Whiskey Ron. Love Mum and MIL2B

Mum
Hello my dears, Have you heard Danny Boy yet? Just had a good conversation with no 1 GS, all is well. he was looking forward(?) to doing chores tomorrow. his first day off for a week. We are going to try a dinner at Grannies next week with 1,2 or 3 boys. He says No2 son is walking quite normally as far as he can see. How is your walking and stair climbing going? Worn out those expensive shoes yet? What is for dinner tonight? Risottooed out yet?I think the Irish are big on potatoes, can you substitute them for rice? Love mumxx

Hi Marmie, Nice to hear from you again. I did try and ring you over the weekend on your mobile but I just couldn´t get through which was a bummer. I also tried leaving a message on the home phone but don´t know if that was successful either. Anyway, we are having a great time here in Barcelona with it´s whacky architecture and wonderful atmosphere. They aren´t afraid to try new things here and it shows. Matt messaged me re the Cats results, though we got them off the AFL website. I knew he´d been to the game and would be excited by the results. I feel sorry for poor Melbourne. Gotta go, am uploading photos late at night before hitting the streets of Barcelona again bright and early. Love to everyone, Sue xxx

Hi Aunty and thanks for writing again, We are having a great time in Barcelona, it is such a fun place full of interesting architecture. The streets are nice and clean, no dodging the do dos and not so many smokers thank goodness. We have another day and a half here before leaving for Ireland which will be so different again. We are really looking forward to the UK part of the trip, but I bet our time will fly when we get there because that is the last leg of the trip. I will be happy to get home because I do miss my babies. Glad you had a nice time with Stef. I see she and Courtnee are both messaging the boys on Facebook, which is nice for the (third?) cousins. Say hi to everyone, Love Sue
