It is our last day in Sihanouk Ville. And there is not much else to be said about this place than it is a paradise. It's perfect. White beaches, clear water which officially has 27 degrees Celsius but it feels like 40 or 50, mainly in the afternoons and close to the shore. Almost too hot for swimming sometimes. And with a view of lots of tiny islands all around. It's spectacular. And I never looked this brown before. Davy says I look brazilian :) We originally wanted to skip the south of Cambodia as I was worried it'd be packed with tourists here but we chose to stay on Otres beach, the most quiet and nicest beach of Sikanouh ville and there are almost no people at all. Also the prices are reasonable and I ... read more

The day had arrived when we had to leave the safety on India, place we got to like a lot and we got to know how it works there. It felt a little bit like starting the travels all over again, going to a new country. Different time zone, different currency, different language, different people... A little scary but it turned out it could only get better! :) As an inseparable part of our travels, I got really sick the morning we were leaving Digha and spent just as awful day being extra sick on a bus and on a plane. Of course, the day when I got better, Davy got sick too but I guess we are getting use to it and we are sightseeing even when we are sick and we are getting better ... read more

We pretty much got stuck in Varanasi, wih its post Kumbh Mela crowds. The more we were getting sick of people, the less likely we we're going to go Allahabad to see all the madness. We still got some taste of it when we couldn't get any train tickets to Bodh Gaya, place of Buddha enlightenment and again during the last day in Varanasi when we wanted to catch out train to Kolkata but because of the Kumbh Mela crowds, all the roads were closed, not many tuk-tuks available and the train station overpacked. Our last day in Varanasi was very enjoyable though, went for a lovely walk along Ganga. It was super warm day and we saw a cow munching on plastic bags (which is exactly what I said should happen as it would be ... read more

So after Davy got sick and a little better again, we had only one last day to spend in lovely Varkala. After everything that has happened in last few days, I'm taking back all my objections against Varkala (such as prices cos it got even worse in Delhi and Agra and the hassle about everything as well) and we will definitely be coming back there. We enjoyed the warmest day of our stay, the warmest sea, the nicest dinner and what was amazing, when we were in the water swimming, a tiny black and white fish started swimming around Davy, probably attracted by his shorts of the same colour and stayed swimming around Davy for maybe 2 hours. We said goodbye to our puppies and got ready for the north of India. It was a very ... read more

So this is just a short message to let you all know we are fine. We had absolutely crazy week with an absolute highlight of our trip in the mountains with Indu and with some down in other places. We will be staying in Varanasi for next few days so we should have some time to fill you in with all the details and upload some photos. Sending lots of love from Simona and Davy... read more

At this very exact moment, we were supposed to be sitting on a plane to Delhi... meeting Indu... seeing Delhi tomorrow... getting overnight train to Ramnagar..... But Davy got this awful food poisining (we blame a beef steak from Hungry eye restaurant which either wasn't fresh or wasn't cooked properly) and he was feeling very sick for last two days so we had to cancel our flight and we are still in Varkala. I was really scared the first night when Davy even couldn't hold in water but he seems to be getting much better, he took some pills and rehydratation sachets we had with us and a local doctor gave him some pills as well. It was kinda funny when Davy got clear soup with a plain bread after not eating for the whole day ... read more

Hello again,so we got to Varkala by train, our first train journey but not the last, from Allepey which was another place I didnt want to leave but once I saw where we were I was absolutely delighted. It was night time when we arrived so unfortunately we weren't able to swim or so we thought. We booked into a really nice place called Bamboo village and obviosly all the huts were made from bamboo so this was another first experience for us. Didnt do too much the first night, got some beer, got our bearings on the surounding area and got nicely acquinted with Abby the guy who runs Bamboo village who took a liking to us immediately. So sim went off to bed and i drank some beers got the dutch courage on the ... read more

So we travelled south to Alleppey on Sunday and commuted on our first bus which was a great experience, it was over loaded completely and we were the only tourists on it so it was intimidating to begin with but really cool. There was a young boy who had no space at all so he sat on my lap and all the indians were smiling, it was cool. We arrived and got an amazing homestay called the Lemon Dew,a few young lads like mid twenties were running it and it had a very rasta feel to it so I felt right at home. It had an open top area on the roof where everyone had a few beers and a good oul social chat every night and it was great to get info about other places ... read more

So after getting over the initial travells and landing in Kochi the first few days have been brilliant, everything is cheap , the homestay is really cool, the people are so friendly and im not one for curry or spices but the food is soooo good. And cheap. really cheap. Most nights we walk around to get our barrings on the island but sometimes you feel like your walking in circles and then head down to the off license and theres a queue of at least 20 local indians waiting for booze but our tuk tuk driver told us we can skip the locals cos we are guests in there country, scary but awesome. Last night we went for a swim at 2am in the sea with nobody around, crazy to think that theres 7 billion cozilion ... read more

Day 1 So here we are :) All was going really well from the time we left prague, we got to Turkey safe and sound and had a little wait in the airport the only bad thing was that a beer cost us a tenor,so we splashed out and had only 1, we then flew to Mumbai where the shit hit the fan, i wanted to kick the shit out of someone or anyone. first of all the flight was delayed by a half hour, then it was delayed by another 2 and a half hours, them my iphone wouldnt charge as everyone elses did charge and the beers and food was unbelievably high priced so we sat sulking until our stupid plane finally arrived, remember these were all connecting flights so we were literarly travelling ... read more
