After staying 1 night in sydney at Legend has it west end (hostel) we visited our friend Danny who has an apartment around the corner from central station. The actual plan was to crash here for a couple of nights but we soon changed our minds.. Danny's apartment (who he shared with another guy) was as big as our bedroom (if not smaller). Done loads of travelling since we left on the oz bus!!! just a little tatster..a 15k hike...saw wild roo's and wombats and a squeeky beach.. We had to get up at about half 5 to catch the Oz bus around 6ish..char's alarm didnt go off she she was woken up to shell ringing her waiting down stairs ready!! While staying at Nomands We ranged with George and Alex to hire a car and take a road trip down the Great Ocean Road...originally this was a 3 day trip then turned into a week camping! Another lad, tom joined us making the trip bit cheaper! We managed to hire a station wagon at $33 a day, wasnt the greatest car in the world as you can see in the photos but brought some laughs and did the job! We left at 5 on friday and managed to arrive in Adelaide in 3 in the morning with no where to stay!!! [View Full Entry]

On Monday we caught the train to Ferntree Gully where we went to visit Shells's mums friend, Deb and the family!! Really weird for Shell seeing her as it has been 8 years since she last saw her! We met Deb and Pete her partner, son Daniel our age, Lauren her daughter and Hannah her Grand daughter!! Deb's was fab and im not sure how much goon we drunk within this week but it was a heck of a lot haha (i'd say around 16litres?! mental!!) On the 16th Dec we headed back to the airport and caught a flight to the Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise, where we were meeting my uncle and auntie and also my mum n dad etc! We arrived at our luxury penthouse..not bad for backpackers ha! Right opposite the beach and a 5 min walk to the shops and clubs. On the tuesday we went to White water world (waterpark) which was pretty amazing.. one ride reminded us of the boomerang slide in Malia where our bums ate up our bikinis! haha! On monday 14th Jan we headed to the airport and flew to Melbourne. Checked in at Nomads hostel and met some guys straight away that were in the room next door. Also some other friends we met in Sydney had flew down the same day as us and happened to be in the same hostel which was pretty kool (george and alex). First when we got to Melbourne didn't think much of it and didn't see what everyone was raving about!! We left home on the 8th Dec...Katy, Adam, Emma, Kirsty, Nik, Hannah and Will all came to see us off!! Was good idea at the time but all came very emotional when we said our good byes!! We left with Jane, Ian and lauren so we weren't on our own in the big wide world just yet!! Flight was good, slept for most of it as was hungover from the night before!! Arrrghhhhhhh.... The start of our backpackers year! Ha!! We arrived in Sydney airport on the 14th Dec and headed straight to Wake Up! We considered getting the train but as we had not clue where we were going we opted for a taxi! Fort we'd treat ourselves as we'd jst arrived! Walked in Wake up about 11 in the morning and the place was packed loadas people and, the place looked really funky and modern!
