On the way back through Uganda we stopped again in Kampala and stayed at the same campsite as before. It was my turn for cook group again, and the dinner was a great success! I feel like I am growing up so much! In Kampala, the group went out to an Irish Pub that didn't even have Guinness on tap! It was a lot of fun. We danced and I drank Sapphire Tonics with ice which was very lucky treat. The next day, everyone went into town. I on the other hand watched my first rugby game on TV and sat [View Full Entry]

Left Uganda on 6/23 we drove to the first place that we had our first bush camp which is in Eldorat. Again, it was freezing and I didn't enjoy it the second time either. From there we went to Nakuru, when we first arrived we had some time to shop in the town. Not my favorite. The people are not so nice, the good part was it is not the dirtiest of cities. In the afternoon our group was picked up by small vans so that we could go on a game drive in Nakuru National Park. The park is located [View Full Entry]

Left for Uganda on 6-11. The boarder crossing was amazing. I never seen anything like it. The truck that we are traveling is very large and yellow and screams attention. Every time that we stop we are swarmed with people. The boarder was no different. You can buy fresh water, simosas (my new favorite African food), and you can also exchange your currency with men that are standing at the boarder crossing wearing yellow coats. They looked like stock exchange people. Uganda is so much pretty than Kenya, it is very green and for the most part the roads are a [View Full Entry]

Rwanda Africa
We left Uganda and headed for Rwanda on 6/14. The drive was beautiful, however, the boarder had the worst bathroom/hole in the ground that I have seen. I threw up a little in mouth. Rwanda has so many hills, it is no wonder it is called the land of 1000 hills. The best part of Rwanda is the roads are better! It is great when you can actually read while on the truck. Our first stop was in Kigali, which is the capital of Rwanda and also the starting point for the Genocide that happened in 1994. We went to the [View Full Entry]

Lake Naivasha Africa
On the journey to Lake Naivasha, we stopped at the Great Rift overlook. It was a beautiful site, there was a family there selling goods. The little girl was hustler. SHe tried to sell me these little figurines for 2,000 shilling which is like $20us. I told her that was crazy, and she just shrugged her shoulders at me. She will do good to become a cars sales woman. The place we camped for the first two nights was called Fisherman Camp. Very nice camp site on the edge of Lake Naivasha, which is home to over 2,500 hippos, the most [View Full Entry]

Nairobi Africa » Kenya
Jambo Everyone! Nairobi is just like in the movies. Never actually made it to the city yet, that will be in 14 days. We arrived in the Afternoon and were picked up by our airport transfer his name was Amos. The car was this beat up old Toyota. The drive to the hostel was shocking. There was a ton on poverty and people walking everywhere and sooooo many donkeys. I have never seen so many. Karen Camp was the first hostel we stayed in and it was very nice as far as hostels goes. Jen and I have a room with [View Full Entry]

Woke up this morning at 5:30am to watch the sunrise from out beach front hotel. It was very beautiful and peaceful. It was low tide so we were able to go a ways out in the water. It was interesting to see what it take for a hotel like this to open. There were about 20 workers just on the beach front. They even rake the sand so that it looks fresh. The water is perfectly clear, they have these white/clear fish that you can see only when they swim and when they are still you can only see them b/c [View Full Entry]

Well the trip has been amazing so far! San Fran was crazy running around trying to finish up last minute details. Lesson to myself, I should not procrastinate so much. Emirates upgraded us to business class for free! Which means, our seats had privacy walls, laid down into beds, we each had 20 inch tvs, we were served 5 course meals, and free alcohol. Our driver in Dubai was amazing. I had a quick language lesson and learned to say some key phrases in Arabic. Great person. We stayed at the Westin Mina Seyahi Le Meridian. The hotel that was given [View Full Entry]

LA and the Cruise were a great time. We arrived early Friday morning and went for breakfast at a great cafe in Santa Monica. We then went to Rodeo Drive and then on to Long Beach for the cruise. For my first cruise it was a pretty good experience. Carnival seemed like they would be stricter about alcohol so we got sneaky with smuggling the booze in saline bottles. It turns out that they didn't really care and everyone had brought on litters of alcohol. Poor Jen was not feeling well so we did not even finish what we brought. The [View Full Entry]

Great Breakfast in Santa Monica, CA

In August of 2008, we headed out on our 3rd girls week-end out. The first night we got there we went to the store bought the vodka and got ready for a very fun night out! [img=http://img6.travelblog.org/Photos/114084/382901/s/3586065-Hurrican-Tiffany-is-SO-strong-0.jpg left] Hurrican Tiffany took a poor unsuspecting bar by storm. We learned how to count to 10 in Gaelic by some very nice Irish boys. The next day we took a ferry across the water had lunch, went to the warf and did a bar crawal back to our hotel. The evening was nice and chill. Still dressed in our day clothes we danced [View Full Entry]
