Stupa
This hosts 8000 human skulls from the victims. The Stupa was built in memorial for the prisoners who were killed at the Killing Fields
Today we visited the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek which is situated 15km out of Phnom Penh city. This is where most of the 17,000 detainees held at the S-21 prison (Tuol Sleng Museum), were brought to be executed. Now a very quiet and peaceful place, it really is controversy to the atrocities that happened here. There is an enormous Stupa, with a glass tower containing 8000 human skulls from the victims and their discarded clothes. The most disturbing part of the trip, was discovering the ''Killing Tree'', which was where the Khmer Rouge would hold babies and children by the [View Full Entry]

We waved goodbye to Vietnam and crossed the boarder into Cambodia!!! Our first destination was Phnom Penh, which is Cambodia's capital!!! We were a little over whlemed when we first got into the city, as we had about 10 Cambodian men try to tout us for a tuk-tuk and follow us around untill we chose one!!! A little frustrating when you've been on a bus for 7 hours!!! But finally we arrived at Angkor International Hotel, which is situated right near the river Tonle Sap. The nightlife here is quite busy, and the restaurants offer really really good food with brilliant [View Full Entry]

Saigon ... Oh dear what a nightmare!?! We arrived in Saigon after a nine hour bus journey from Da Lat! Knowing that Saigon is the largest metropalis in Vietnam, we kind of expected it to be heaving...but nothing could of prepared us for the mahem of this city!!! Since arrival, we have discovered that pavements according to the Vietnamese living here, are not for pedestrians to walk on, they are in fact used for everything else but this!!!! This includes a car park for hundreds of bikes (to the point you have to walk on the road, weaving in-between thousands of [View Full Entry]

Wow we've been busy today! All in all we've riden 70km plus on our moped...we're quite surprised it didn't blow up!?!?! After booking our sleepy bus journey to Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon) for tomorrow morning, we decided to visit all the sights here in Da Lat. So our first stop was to The Golden Stream Lake, situated 18km out of Da Lat!!! This is where one huge lake is situated deep within the mountains, with really beautiful gardens surrounding it!!! The gardens have watermills and small ponds everywhere, beautiful bombai trees and man made bamboo huts jetting out into the [View Full Entry]

So our second stop of the day was to the stunning Datanla Waterfall!!! As this waterfall is situated quite a walk away from the entrance, the resort now has toboggans on rails which takes you from the top of the cliff all the way down to the waterfall!!! So of course we just had to try it!!! The toboggan ride itself took us about 5 minutes to get to the waterfall, it was a really nice ride down and the views were great!!! When we got down there, we were surprised at how big the actuall waterfall itself was! There was [View Full Entry]

Our final stop of the day was Prenn Waterfall!!! Situated 13km out of Da Lat and deep in the mountains, the views are quite simply stunning!!! When we arrived, we trecked down to the waterfall and enjoyed walking over the bridge which takes you directly under the waterfall itself!!! The views from under there were awesome!?! After that we went and had a look at the elephant farm in the waterfalls resort, and found that aswell as riding the elephants you could also ride an ostrich!?! Wierd right...not the kind of animal we would of thought you could ride!?! Overhead, you [View Full Entry]

Today we hired a bike and drove 30km out of Da Lat to the cities most famous waterfall called Elephant Waterfall!!! Why it is called Elephant Waterfall we do not know, as there were certainly no elephants!??! Unlike most waterfalls, you cannot see it from the entrance, you have to climb down the side of the mountain to find it, and the climb is by NO mean for the faint hearted!!! We started to climb the steep droop, and after climbing for about half an hour we got quite near the bottom of the mountain!!! We were slightly confused as the [View Full Entry]

It has a very british astmoshere in there, the comfiest couches and they also make the most AMAZING vietnamese ice coffee EVERRRRRR!!! Thanks to our coffee buzz, we decided to walk the 2km across Da Lat to "The Crazy House"!!! When we got there ... we were soo excited!!! So we said goodbye to Nha Trang and it was now on to Da Lat. We travelled via sleepy bus, which left from our hotel at 8am, and would arrrive in Da Lat at 2pm. We were all asked by the driver before leaving Nha Trang, which route we wanted to take up to Da Lat. There were two routes : the new road and the old road!!! The only differences between the 2 is that the new road is 60km less than the old road, but quite a boring road to drive down. Where as the old road, even though [View Full Entry]

WonderPark, Nha Trang Asia
WonderPark ... A.K.A ... Wonder - where all the people have gone - Park!!! After seeing many brochures, and being told by many locals about how fantastic Nha Trang's local themepark 'WonderPark' was, we decided to hire a moterbike and visit it!!! We should have followed our instinct and turnd back on arrival!!! As soon we arrived in the car park, there only seemed to be 2 bikes parked up...intreagued however we both payed for our tickets and ventured into the park!!! Woooowwww...what a shock!!! It was like a scene out of silent hill....Completly deserted!!! The park is streched out over [View Full Entry]
