No snow then?
Hi Leonie and Rik, You do keep finding fantastic places to visit and stay. Excellent. As I write there is wet sleet/snow falling again. Pa says that it won't stay as the ground is too warm and wet. It better not! Hope to be able to drive again next week. So, while I won't be travelling as you are, it is exciting after 8 weeks, and it will make getting out and about much easier, so fingers crossed. Keep having a great time. Hi guys
Hi guys your recent blogs have been brilliant as usual and it looks like you are still having the most wonderful time. The building work started on the house last Friday and the house is freezing in the middle you have to put your coat on to make a cup of tea, there has been snow on the ground for a week now certainly the worst i can remember. Lucy, Sasha and i have just been to 7a for lunch just to get out of the house or we may have gone crazy it was my day off but pre-school is open so i'll be back at work tomorrow. Its still snowing and its quite deep now in parts. The house is full of dust and at the moment you can see Jonny's ceiling if you are sitting in the kitchen!! Hi guys, just love the photo's of your engagement it made me feel all emotional what a beautiful setting and what a special and memorable moment. You should have a photo of the jetty blown up for your bedroom wall when you get back to always remind you. I'm a bit worried about that dog bite Leonie, did you have your tetnus when you were 14?? keep an eye on it. If they chase you again squirt water in their faces they hate that. Lucy rang yesterday to say she had arrived in Uganda and was drinking wine on the banks of lake Victoria and it was hot. Sasha is 30 weeks on Saturday and getting quite big she is very well and she and Jon are getting excited. I have had the terrible cough and cold that has been going round so i'm sorry for the way i look on the email photo we sent you. Happy xmas you guys its not the same without you two or lucy but we are very cosy with logs on the fire every night as it is freezing outside and has been for over a week now. Congratulations!
Dear Leonie and Rik, What wonderful news, delighted to hear your happy announcement! And such a magical and romantic setting - a good omen. Congratulations! Sorry have not mailed for a while, expect Julia told you that was in hospital for a routine operation at the end of November. Released after 4 days but then had to go back in on the 7th December for a few more days! Feeling much better now and getting better every day. Have been signed off until the 19th February. Your good wishes to Jack, and to Katy and Abz, have been passed on and they say thanks. Katy and Abz just managed to get out of Manchester airport before the snow shut it and are in Istanbul for a week. Jack seemed to handle a week of celebrations which is not bad for your 18th. He had ‘Smoothes’ at school, followed by the 6th Form Party in a night club in Reading, various house parties, and a sleep-over. The wedding was lovely. Your Mum and Faith were able to come to the Registry Office which was nice. The reception at Geoff’s school was a great success! We had the dining room transformed with decorations and lights and co-ordinated table cloths and flowers, and then next door the school hall had all the indoor games out; so the 20+ children (and some of the adults) had a great time. We had fish and chips, and everyone had been asked to bring their favourite chocolate cake. Uncle Mark set himself the task of trying every one... In Reading we have been snowed in for 3 days now. The buses are only running on main roads and there were so many skidding vehicles, and bumps and abandoned cars, on Monday night that people were taking 4-5 hours to get across from one side of Reading to the other. Luckily Uncle Geoff is kitted out for this weather so he has been walking to the shops for us and the neighbour. I hope that you have a very different and memorable Christmas. This looks like a very Westernised sort of place - and delighted to see that the Tomb Raider is served in a brandy glass, and not a MK42 cartridge style bucket or PS2 controller shaped receptical! Enjoy the next couple of days, wish I was with you, really fed up with the rain and cold in the UK. Much love, mumxx
