Today we packed up all our things and headed off at 3am by coach under army/police escort to the impressive temples of Abu Simbel. These temples were once a couple of hundred meters further down hill but had to be relocated to higher ground when the Egyptians flooded the area in order to dam up the Nile. The temples were painstakingly walled off and then drained of water so they could cut them up and relocate them in pieces to higher ground. They did an amazing job of this! On arrival in Abu Simbel one of the members of our tour became very sick on the train he had a temperature of 41, he was delirious and did not know his name or where he was so he had to be taken to a doctor…. (he was put on a drip) I hope that what he had doesn’t spread. The past few days have been spent roaming around Cairo, hanging out with some of the local guys from the Canadian Hostel and dining out. I met a couple of girls who were living in the UK for a while due to studies (one Egyptian the other Jordanian) and they had met a couple of guys from Cairo so we all hung out together until they had to go home. My last few days have been spent in Cairo; Egypt. The flight over was not as smooth as I had wished for, since the stop over in Paris was slow and quite congested. (That’s airlines for you) After arriving in Cairo and finally finding my luggage I was disappointed to find my sleeping bag missing. So I waiting and waited hoping it would come along the conveyer belt but the waiting proved unfruitful. Early December in London has been quite relaxing; I have become acclimatized to the weather and familiar with the people. The majority of my time has been spent with friends and wandering around London although hotly contended by researching and planning a trip to Egypt. During my days I have visited a few museums like the Victoria and Albert’s Museums the Natural history museums. I went and saw a live gig and went indoor climbing quite a few times. The most interesting part of today was a visit to Madame Tussauds. The place is quite interesting, but definitely a great place to take the kids, they show a little 3d-ish like movie on a dome roof then lead you through the wax museum followed by a roller coaster type ride through a few London themes. Yesterday I visited the Imperial War Museum. This was my highlight of the day by far. The only prolbem I found is it was so large I didn't get a chance to see everything. But I am considering a return visit since there was an exhibit about animals in warfare that tickets were needed to be purchased to attend. Here are a couple of pics in the museum. [View Full Entry]

The last few days I have been taking it easy. I visited the London Eye, War Museum and met up with friends. I managed to catch up with Simon!! a mate from Sydney and a good mate from IBM. We had a few drinks and had a lot to catch up on. Hopefully we'll be going for a rock climb some time soon. Anyhow I don't have a lot to update right now so I'll just post some pictures. 23rd Nov After leaving Carlisle I then headed to Yorkshire to drop off Anna (one of the road crew) then proceeded to York to look around. Since there was not much time left I only entered York Minster. The cathedral was pretty amazing inside; I was a bit shocked to see how much was inside. There were head stones from graves and plagues, coffins and many alters. The place had more packed into it than I had ever imagined. Driving and sight seeing is what I’ve been doing best lately and what today was mainly consisting of, besides a little shopping the day has been pretty busy at the wheel getting from A to B to Z. The trip from Fort William went from one extreme to another with clear sunny weather cruising the highlands along narrow twisty roads at quite high speeds...
