After the freezing cold of Austria, Germany did not seem to cold.... well Munic didn't. On the way to Munic we visited a concentration camp called Mauthausen Concentration camp, a very big and infamous camp... Visiting there was a big eye opener and quite a shocking place... After visiting the previously mentioned camp it was time to get back to reality and turn the mood around so I headed into Munic to see the sights and... well ofcourse visit the beer halls! Cold weather is now the norm, I entered Austria and stayed in Vienna, It's really clean there but freezing cold and windy, still it was sunny at first but then it started to snow, the snow came down in full sunlight then the clouds came over and it begun to blizzard quite heavily. Hello again, I just wanted to add another note about the trip to Vienna and the current conditions here in Vienna. On the way up here I stopped in at the home of Lamborghini and looked through a lot of different models the people there was really relaxed and let me just do whatever I wanted (bar driving them) But I was also fortunate to see the italian lamborghini police car! after checking it out it drove off and the driver couldn't resist showing off - spinning all 4 wheels easly awhile travelling about 80kms per hr.. quite impressive. Hi everyone, I am now in Austria and it's snowing, here is my blog update Day 11 (31st) Halloween today and we spent that in Venice. This place is very interesting it’s known as the sinking city as it is slowly sinking into the ocean at around 1 foot per 10 years and this is very evident by the level of some of the doorways which need to be boxed in so the sea water doesn’t flood the residence. Day4 (24th) Lyon to Barcelona. Here we visited the famous Roman aqueduct of Pont du Gard then continued off through to the Mediterranean city of Barcelona. Tonight being my birthday All 50 of us went out clubbing and by the time it hit 12am everyone went crazy and drinks were flowing, the locals there offered so much free drinks, that and being my birthday I didn’t pay for one drink. Today was mainly a transit day - I don't know if I will be able to update this every day but anyway we ended up travelling to Lyon in france to check out Napoleons holiday home where we held his famous speech. Today was a very busy day, we walked from one side to the other of old town Paris, Explored many sites of which I will post pics and got lost a few times in the Musee du Louvre. (some amazing art) Later that night we went out to catch the Moulin Rouge (which was quite expensive at 130 euros but that included alchohol and food) fantastic show and I must say is well worth the money! Everyone boarded the buss and we left for France, caught the ferry across the channel, and then we stopped for food and continued off through France. 9:50am After circling around the skis of London for 20mins we landed smoothly on the soggy tarmac of Heathrow airport. Finding the railway was a synch and after withdrawing some cash from the ATM I set off in search of the hotel. Now I sit here looking for ways to pass the time so I can book in and then go catch up with Simon - an old mate from IBM and rock climbing. 5:00pm Sydney time; departure from went smooth for the trip into Bangkok however once there we were asked to leave the plane and go through customs again, the flight also suffered some technical delays and ended up leaving almost 2 hours late. Lucky for me the passengers next to me moved which left me 3 seats to lie down on and get plenty of sleep. Still waiting for the flight to leave Bangkok and it’s now 5am Sydney time.
