finally made it out of vang vieng a couple of days ago. although we had the time of our lives it came with a price.....my foot. after 8 straight days of tubing and boozing i managed to get an infection in my left foot, five days later in starting to heal! the last few days were hell having to travel 12 hours on train 12 hours on bus and 2 hours on boat, but we finally made it to paradise. were here in ko pha-ngan, an island off the southern gulf of thailand, for the next 10 days. because were fat lazy americans we decided to rent motor bikes for the remainder of the trip to cruse the island, prob the best money we spent so far. one thing the island doesn't do is sleep, they ... read more

Left luang prabang about three days ago and headed for vang vieng; the mini bus was suppose to take 6hrs instead it took 8. our driver had to make a few pit stops in order to tighten the wheels and tie a couple of bicycle inter-tubes around the leaf springs... pretty sure they snapped off after the first bump. the next morning, and the next six that will follow, we will be floating down the river stopping at the five different bars that align the river banks, swinging from rope swings and sliding down water slides. so far i havent hurt myself too bad, apart from a few sore muscles and a fat bloody lip from going down the slide head first. the num sont river is pretty cold at first but as you stand in ... read more

our trek was pretty cool got to ride an elephant for about 20 min, wish it was longer and had better scenery, but never the less i was on top of an elephant. we went on a hike to a couple of villages and learned a bit on how each tribe lived. last we went down a small shallow river on a bamboo raft that i got to help navigate, although i prob didnt do much. the weather is absolutley perfect but the river water is pretty cold. left chiang mai a couple of days ago and pulled in to laos today. from our hostel in chiang mai we took a mini bus for a 6hrs then a schlo boat for 8hrs then another schlo boat for 9hrs. the boat is a few hundred feet long ... read more

still in chiang mai, plan on going on a trek tomorrow to ride an elephant then prob leave chiang mai the next night. went to a mui thai fight the other night and sat ring side. there were about 8 fights but only 4 of them had trainers so i took it upon myself to coach a few of the fighters, evidently i only confused them because all three of them got knocked out. havent really explored to much, spend a lot of time at our pool and night market. the bars are cool, filled with pool tables and american music... but hardley any westeners. i have lots of great photos but never seem to have my camara with me at the computer, maybe next time. hopefully ill have more to write about next week. love ... read more

Asiana airlines was bomb!!! good food, good service, and great sleep! it was 13 hrs to south korea with a 2 hour layover in seoul, then another 6 hrs to bangkok. took a 40 min taxi to meet Reid, who had told us that every taxi driver knows where this burger king is... ours of course did not. he droped us off at the end of the st and told us to walk down, what i can only desribe to you as a pee infested garbage filed alley with venders and taxi drivers just waiting to prey on a couple of american retards. by the way, they got us... we only spent one night in bangkok and got ripped off about four different times. luckily it was only a few dollars, because the exchange rate is ... read more

well i finally found a job, my first day was friday. i work with a charity/fundraiser, raising money for kids in disaster situations. right now were working with kids who lost there homes and schools due to flooding. basically i go to shops/homes/wharehouses and collect donations, or sell pins, or raffle tickets. on my first day i made the most money out of the whole crew. i don't really have a hourly wage i get 30% of the donations that i bring in, or a min. of 400 a week. im hoping that i can become a trainer by next week, in which case i will make an additional 5% of what my team sells. the work sucks but i get to be outside all day, exercising, and meet a lot of cool people. it also ... read more

Hey guys We findly found a place to live its a 3 bedroom one bath house right outside of coogee beach one of the most famous beaches. we met up with two English guys that are going to move in with us to cut the cost, about 200 dollars a week. the bad part is we can't move in until the 21st so we have to comntinue to live in china town and waste our money in this crappy hostile. i can't believe how expensive it is out here. a 24 pack of beer is 48 dollars. so far i haven't seen much, besides the beaches and the oprah house, but once we move in we hope to get jobs to earn some money to travel up north. hope everything is going well in the states. ... read more
