So I will be a happy man if I never have to see a bus again in my life. I left Chiang Mai and head to the Thai/Laos boarder and stayed there for a night. The next day I got a boa across the Mekong and entered Laos with 2 Italian guys from the guesthouse in Chiang Mai. WE were mant to get the boat down the river to Luang Prubang but were talked out of it because of the weather and got on a local bus instead. Instead of arriving in Luang Prubang at 9:30pm we arrived at 1:30am, 15 hours after we had hopped on the bus... We managed to find a guesthouse and I think we were all happy just to get a bed. So after a very relaxing few days in Pai I am now back in Chiang Mai. I really enjoyed Pai, Scott and I head up there together on the minibus and ended up having to cram into a seat designed for one I think in the back with all the bags. Not the most pleasant bus ride ever and was good to get off when we got to Pai. Scott and I found a good little guest house and ended up splitting a room which worked out well on the money saving front. So after a few hiccups to begin with my trip is finally really getting underway. I spent 2 nights in Bangkok on Khao San Rd before making my way up to Chiang Mai. I think I will spend some more time in Bangkok at the end of my trip and I will probably enjoy it more then when I have my travel wits about me more. So I didnt do much there in those couple of days. The train to Chiang Mai was not as exciting as I hoped it would be. In the 2 bunks above me was an Israeli couple who just talked to each other the whole time.
