Wednesday night I met the class to see Märzmelodie which was good and then we all walked over to a bar and had a couple of drinks. So this week as my birthday! I went with some people to the Opera where we saw Die Zauberflüte or the magic flute. It was pretty good and later came back and had my bday celebration with the friends. This past week was filled with alot of different events. Monday I went with the group to the Bundeskanzleramt which is where the prime minister, Merkel, works. We were told not many people can tour the building so we were lucky enough to get in. Thursday we went to Stammtisch but with a series of unfortunate events some of us left early but it was a good and memoriable time. This past weekend some friends and I headed off to Karnival in Koeln, Germany, 2nd largest in the world! We had to get up really early in the morning to head to the train station and it was a long ride down there. I almost made us get off at the wrong stop because I kept hearing Koeln, Koeln, Koeln and I asked someone if this was Koeln and they said yes so I yelled at everyone to get off cause everyone was sleeping... but false alarm... which was good cause we wouldnt have been able to make it otherwise. So I finally have time to update this! so here it goes! DAY 1. Landed in Frankfurt in the afternoon where i tried out my german for the first time. Seemed to be decent enough to live by. My first word was Entschuldigung on the plane and "Nehmen Sie Kreditkarten?" at the coffee place. I nearly lost my ticket to berlin in the bathroom but luckily it was still laying there. Our gate was also changed twice which was frustrating. Landed in Berlin and exchanged my money. The dollar blows to the euro... but I did find 10 canadian in the [View Full Entry]

Hey ya'll! This is the start of my trip, with all the packing. I am nearly done packing all my stuff. I'm trying not to bring too many bags or too much stuff. I have a feeling I will be bringing some stuff home with me and I'll have to be trecking it all across Europe when the program ends. Right now I have a normal suitcase, mini-case, backpack, and laptop bag.
